Away Form

Think the players need to take some accountability here. New manager, same players underperforming.

We know they are capable.

We are awful away from home. This includes both stupid individual errors and nonsense subs.

2nd half we take the lead, Pellegrini straight away makes a sub and we lose. This has happened at Cardiff and again today. Is this shit preplanned or does he intentionally take the momentum from us?

Both the players and the manager need to take a good look at what has occurred so far and improve on what they can control.

They did some good things today unlike the vast majority of the first two away games but again did a lot wrong.

If we don't cut out the silly mistakes we are asking for trouble and conceding three away to Cardiff and Villa is the beginnings of a ticket to nowhere in the premiership this season.

This is a concern.

-- Sat Sep 28, 2013 8:59 pm --

Next two away matches in the league Chelsea and WHU. Both will provide a huge test for Pellegrini and its not hard to imagine we wont have an away win after 5 away games.

I think this slightly misses the point... Our away form in big games feels good, it is away form in games we think we 'should win' where we come unstuck. And that is down to mentality of players and staff. Ours and our opponents.

We also seem to be incredibly unlucky in these games. It's a puzzle that needs solving. Now.

Today was unusual, even by our standards. Perplexing. Kompany looks confused in his interview, hard to disagree with that feeling. No way we should have lost today, but we did. Again.

We always do well at Villa too....

It's quite plain to see that it's a problem, however I did see some promising signs today

It's something that I am sure the club realises and will work on a solution, I think the attitude has more to do with it than anything else, the smaller teams will fight like hell, we have got to adopt the same attitude

Did you really think the attitude was wrong today? We were literally all over Villa from minute one. I liken today to the Sunderland away game from two season ago. Same performance, same result.

It's so difficult to fathom that we didn't take three points today, let alone coming away with nothing.
Because other than little half chances here and there, what did we actually create? Cross cross cross cross cross to Villa's heads or feet for 84minutes of proceedings, then a few deflected shots wide/a few blocked shots and two goals, and three examples of horrendous defending for the other six minutes. We dominated possession but did almost nowt with it. How many saves did Guzan actually make?

In that Sunderland away game we missed glaring chances; an open net chance put over the bar, a shot four yards out that went straight to the keeper...and we defended excellently giving them nowt until that barmy last ten seconds where they popped up with their only shot all game and won.

An offside goal, a great free kick and an individual error from Kompany/Nastasic cost us three goals in a game we completely dominated. How are any of those things Pellegrinis fault? We played well today, it was just an unfortunate result.

100% agree

We are shocking away from home.

Pellagrini handed that to Villa through fucking nonsense selection & decisions. It is plain to see that Negredo and Dzeko cannot play together they are too similar. Jovetic should of started with one of them. Navas on the bench resting for champions league even. Nasri running the game an gets subbed at 2-1 to keep him fresh for Wednesday. When our away form is the way it is he should of learned by now to play his best team. Instead he is prioritising a competition that we have no chance of winning. He did it at Stoke and he's done it again today.

Yes villa had 3 attacks and scored 3 goals. But it was obvious the players were lacking killer instinct in the final Third all game. We relied on set pieces for our goals. If you don't kill it off in the premiership away from home your in massive trouble. And if you play well and don't win regularly away from home then your not going to win the league.

The scum should be out of sight, instead they are 3 points behind. If Arsenal win tonight they are 5 clear of us with stupidly easy fixtures in the next 6. Atrocious from the manager.

If I recall, Villa beat Arsenal as well and so what if they have Ozil now. City and us fans have to stop slagging of teams who aren't fielding a bunch of top talent as "easy fixtures" there are no easy fixtures.
