Just pointing out that the myth of ‘taking up the slack’ is bollocks.
Branches sent them back in droves, hence it going to lower points and the better atmosphere.
It’s disengenous to try and twist the discussion into hatred of the Supporters Club, it’s far from it. I’ve been a member of four different branches in my time and done a lot of work for them, some of which has been published.
However this thread is about away tickets and was requested in order to not detract from the City Matters thread.
Tickets is what the discussion is about, not the Supporters club and not the work of the Supporters club, it’s about ticket allocation. No one is criticising the Supporters Club or their members, we’re having a discussion about Manchester City’s ticket allocation, which some of us believe to be unfair to people with the points. Why is that so wrong?
One question that needs answering though “is the Supporters Club’s allocation an inalienable right and therefore not allowed to be discussed”?
The other myth being ‘you only get a ticket if you have the points if you are in a Supporters Club’.
You know that’s not true and have admitted it on here, as has Prestwich Blue and liamCTID. So why this pretence from members that all SC members have the right points to get a ticket?
Just the fact that you get your allocation before they go on sale to the plebs proves the point to be inaccurate and untruthful.
What independent seasoncard holders (at 44,000, double the members in the SC) are asking for is a fair crack of the whip.
Corporates and player allocation should be cut. There’s no need for a SC allocation with the new technology we have. Modification of Friends & Family could be a Supporters Club page for each branch with their members on it. The members log in to say they want a ticket and they are then allocated together so you don’t have to sit own your own, provided they have the points.
It really doesn’t matter how the tickets are sourced for making arrangements to sort travel, yet another myth.
