Away tickets

You have to read your post carefully, especially when it gets a like from Supporters Club aficionados.

The allocation to the Supporters Club has actually increased over the last five years. It was 10% and it is now 20%, that is not a cut by any stretch of the imagination. Now that cut has been creamed off from the independent supporters in here asking why the allocation is necessary at all.

Perhaps you should ask Mr Parker for a breakdown of where all the tickets are distributed? Your branch may be getting less whilst some are getting more, much more.

Not a chance that will happen. Some supporters clubs have always been given preferential treatment over others

Would be carnage if they published that information

I know of one supporters club that the secretary has his seasoncard paid for by the members

All I know is that it’s incredibly annoying being on 14,000 points and continually missing out on a fair number of games. I go to what I can but every season everyone above me moves on and I have no way of ever bridging that gap.
Even more infuriating is when people on here say to the ones that moan that they have ample opportunity to go to Sunderland on a Tuesday night etc, as if those 20 points will make all the difference. Believe me they don’t.

I know how you feel. I've had a season ticket for the last 27 years (first one bought in the 70s) and ive been "lucky" enough to get tickets for Cardiff and Southampton away. Although i used to travel away a lot when we were in the 3rd tier and championship, i fell behind when I started a family. Also only got a measly 1500 points "awarded" for my support prior to moving grounds. I think the % for corporates and SC should be reduced so that the % goes up for season ticket holders and to allow the introduction of a ballot for younger supporters who will never catch up the points.

Agree with you and StevieAsk. The moving up the ladder has stopped and I reckon it happened when Joes opened, and then Tunnel Club. Perhaps if we had the historical data on the Corp/SC/points split evolution of the last few years, it would become clearer.
As it stands, the concept of the loyalty lints as something you move through is gone. The suggestion of only giving out points for games that go to general sale is a litigant to this, I feel. It does not disadvantage those at the top unless they only pick the glamour matches - which they don’t do from what i can see. (They don’t just pick the glamour games, to be clear).

If you took a random 20% of our fans tomorrow who are at Newport I wonder what percentage won’t have 19k+ points?

The branch I'm in have definitely had their away allocation cut in recent seasons and I'm sure there are a few branches where their allocation is more than a pro-rata figure. I'll ask the branch sec. if he knows how it works but he's not on the exec committee, hence my question along similar lines earlier in the thread.

Some branches have definitely had their numbers cut.
Some of the far away branches get one or two whereas they used to get five or six.
Yet the allocation has increased, so they must have gone somewhere, hence my statement.
