Away tickets

And that’s what we’ve been saying for a while.
Some Corporates buy the tickets to sell on at a profit to pay for their perks.

Yet our Forum rep says it’s none of his business and it isn’t wrong as they can do what they like with their allocation, ignoring the fact that it is illegal, even though it’s his demographic who are being shafted

It’s just wrong on many levels. I don’t really blame people for buying them, although if we all refused to line their greedy fucking pockets then the market for them may disappear. Probably being very naive.

It’s difficult to blame people who buy them, they are desperate to get to the game.

What’s wrong is this illegal practice being condoned, particular by those in place to stand up for us.

Would you ever put yourself forward as a representative for the fans? I know the guy called Prestwich_Blue is a fan representative in some capacity, I am a bit ignorant to the details of it unfortunately, but I have seen him come in for some flack on here of late from several posters.

I'm not being sarcastic, just to make that clear. You seem to be quite opinionated but sensible regarding ticket and fan related issues, with more experience of the system than others and a regular away game attendee. I think if we could get a few like-minded fans together to liaise with the club, then that's the only logical way things are going to improve.

People can vote with their feet, but somebody else will just take their place, as long as the club is seeing dollar signs then they'll be happy. But if long-standing blues who go to most games would be interested in taking it further, then I see that as a plausible way to push for more transparency or fairness in regards to the system.

Nice to see this thread still going strong!

I suggested random ID checks, wrongly, to PB thinking that it would be for ALL supporters. I will point-blankly refuse to show any form of ID to anybody other than the police should I be asked at an away game next season.

What an absolute disgrace of a situation this has become. All the while Kevin Parker is away preaching to supporters what they should and shouldn't sing. I don't agree with the song but he does not speak for me.

Keep fighting the good fight Blues

I can only suspect that the reason the club 'allegedly' appear to ignore, turn a blind eye - call what you will. The alleged activities of ticket office leaks of tickets is because ticket money is relatively low in the grand scheme of the finances of the club. I therefore suspect given this low priority then it would follow that accounting and auditing of this dept is also at the bottom end of their priorities. However given the club are at pains to make it clear publicly that the fans are at the heart of the club I cant help but think this isn't the case. Tickets, especially away tickets, are a high priority for the fans so this tells me that their priorities aren't aligned with the fanbase. Maybe the club feel the current away fan attendance is sufficient? Do they even realise how their own employees are allegedly shafting this fanbase they claim to support publicly? Who knows but something needs to change because should this blow up and potential criminal proceedings take place and go public it just gives everyone another stick to beat us with next to empty seats and FFP. I rather suspect it goes on at every club and has done for years, but it doesn't make it right that loyal supporters, both new and old, miss out on lifetime experiences because some scrote wants to make a fast buck. I hope it's all bollocks but clearly by the amount of comments regarding this then it appears there could be substance to it.

The direction of travel was suggested two years ago by those in the inner circle that loyalty points are going, and slowly but surely they are.

If you have to pay £2k for a season ticket on level 2 to go away then the club makes good money out of away tickets, which since Superbia has been the golden chalice. When Superbia came out in 2011 it was £2500, and my tickets the previous season had cost £1,500 in total - and it did not take into account you may be in the cheapest area for season tickets in the stadium.

North Stand extension and extended Joe's sections only mean one thing for the away tickets, and normal away fans will end up like the Sumatran Elephant or the Black Rhino.
