Away tickets

I have just listen to the Forever Blue podcast where Kevin Parker is interviewed by Ian Cheeseman. Mr Parker is clearly a clever man, and should go into politics.

So, supporters Clubs get 20% of the allocation,’ Season card holders get an allocation of 40%, oh no sorry its 60%.’ Nicely done Kevin.

According to Kevin the Club could not get rid of tickets they used to purchase at prices bigger than the £30 of today. If they didn’t sell them the Club would have to stand the cost. Loyalty points were introduced by the club to sell these tickets with the ‘Loyalty’ points attached as an incentive, so City eventually made Wembley then you could get a ticket based on your ‘Loyalty ‘points.

As a throw away comment, Kevin gave us this 'Loyalty' point from supporters Club. The supporters Club bought an office at Maine road for £25K, and never got anything back when Maine road was sold! What has that got to do with current allocation of tickets? What did they buy or was it a gift for long term rent?

According to Kevin the number of season card holders has not changed we have had 40K FOR YEARS, but supporters club numbers have expanded exponentially, so there are now 280! He goes on to say many are abroad, and rhymes them off, then says they get very few requests for away match tickets from the foreign supporters clubs. [so, his numbers have stayed the same, but we now have 40K season card holders] ‘But supporters clubs are not getting anything they don’t deserve’

Kevin mentions several times that the Supporters club been going 70 years, as though it’s a loyalty thing. Meaning they deserve their spot more than season card holders who as individuals will not have done that.

Some more figure given out by Kevin. There are 7K supporters club members across the world via the 280 clubs, remember they get 20% of an away allocation and Kevin said the foreign clubs don’t generally ask for away fixture tickets. We have 40K season card holders who are allocated 60% of an total allocation. So, for round figures say we get an allocation of 3.5K FOR ANY AWAY GAME. Supporters club get 700 between 7K members saying all the worlds supporters club apply; which Kevin openly admits they don’t. Season card holders get an allocation of 2100 between 40K. How is that fair?

Where has the ‘Loyalty’ gone from these points that are now called ‘ticket’ points? I would imagine soon to be scrapped and made into a rolling pints system to satisfy the majority who have not been collecting the ‘Loyalty’ points over the many years. Yet the Supporters club will still get their allocation and us mere season card holders who have been following City home and away for MANY years will have to put up with joining the que for away tickets. WELL DONE SEASON CARD REP. YOU HAVE PLAYED AN ABSOLUTE BLINDER, NOT!

Complete revisionary lies.

Loyalty points were introduced for two reasons:

Most long term season ticket holder didn't go to any aways but could queue up first for a derby/other big game away ticket and get one

The 98/99 season so excessive demand and small away allocations, you had to bring 20+ stubs to be stamped when the starting giving priority, these turned into computerised tracking to make it easier, and those tracked from Aug 2001 became points in 2003. This was due to excessive demand not low demand.

When City got stung in 2005 a BCFC £40 on a tuesday/wed, it was well after points had been brought in and they just took the smaller allocations if in any doubt. Does he still work for the club?

So ignore the shit KP made up. The supporters club get access through the points system with a million other city fans as well as their own allocation, and the 18-25 now.

For united away it was far easier to get tickets through points when Kevin White replaced Kevin Parker as ticket office manager, which is a fact. Then he insults loyal fans now by calling them whores, and should be sacked off completely by the club.

Haha. Goes to answer the valid question of why do supporters clubs get an allocation for themselves and ends up on a tangent speaking about buying a room at Maine Road and getting nothing back so that means they’re entitled to it.

And given he made a list prior to the interview with the new SC’s on it, he’s had time to come up with an answer too it’s not just been thrust upon him and that’s his best he can muster.

The reasoning is genuinely laughable but taking it seriously for a second, Paying a lot of money to the club to get first dibs on tickets, sound familiar? how is that any different to what the corporates do now? Official Supporters club? Official Corporate club would be a more accurate name upon hearing the words of the general secretary.

@Corky I don’t think it was Kevin Parker who called people who bought tickets & then sold them on so that they got the loyalty points whores that was something that has been around on the forums (not just this one) and he may have picked it up but he isn’t the instigator of that phrase.

@ninjamonkey I am a member of an Official Supporters Club branch BUT I am definitely not an Official Corporate & I never get a ticket through the branch but I do get them from my loyalty points built up through the years!! I prefer to travel with my branch because I feel safer, as an older woman, with the lads from the branch.

It is a disgusting phrase which was used in the interview with Sam Lee recently by him. There are lots of nasty phrases that have been around for a while, doesn't excuse the use of it.

To be fair as a CM rep he shouldn't be referring to any person as a 'whore' … particularly not when the organisation he represents is as culpable as anyone for passing on tickets to people who wouldn't otherwise qualify through the loyalty points system. Whether he instigated the term or not he seems to have categorised a large number of our independent support with this tag whilst turning a blind eye to what goes on in some branches.

As has been mentioned by many .... sometimes the easiest way to get a ticket for a big game is to have a mate in a supporters club who will apply on your behalf.

SC's aren't the only problem but they certainly play their part in dividing the fanbase.
