Away tickets

Did you report that because as KP said in the podcast with Cheesey, if they find out that local people registering with an overseas branch they can investigate?

KP and the like is the reason it is happening as far as I am concerned so no point reporting it. They were not members of the branch. If branches got no tickets it would solve the problem, but the club know has them and CM sycophants doing its bidding by attacking the loyal fans and making things up.

I know people that are and some that aren’t members of various different SC’s that get tickets from them, mainly, but not exclusively, for big games when they’re struggling, it’s not every game but it’s regularly enough. I suppose I could report them if I for some reason wanted to screw my mates but all that achieves is my mates lose out on a source of tickets and somebody else gets tickets instead. It’s a classic case of cutting off the head of the hydra. For every person you report, two more step up in their place. The only solution to that is to cut off the source.

Said it for a long time that the biggest issue with the away allocations is the distribution to all the various sectors of our support as it’s totally disproportionate to the numbers in each sector. However the more you put into the club the more likely you are in obtaining a ticket for whatever game you want. If I win the lottery this weekend and pay upfront for a box for the next 20 years I suspect if I want a few derby tickets, Bournemouth or extra Wembley tickets 8 have no doubt the club will find them. It’s wrong, immoral, unethical, call it what you want but it would happen. However that may be a one off case but what isn’t a one off case is the systematic abuse of the system but many different people. I wonder how many tickets really went on sale to ticket point holders for Bournemouth. It should have been around 700 but was it really. Go back to Brighton last season and the amount of fans in the away end with nowhere near the amount of points it sold out was ridiculous. KP says that there are 7k branch supporters compared to 40k season card holders. Meaning that the larger bulk of fans get three times the amount of tickets despite being nearly six times bigger! Not only that but you are in a branch and aged 18-25 you have three bites of the cherry. Big reform needs to be done.

Well your happy to complain on here with no chance of getting things done, going through the proper channels doesn’t seem like a giant leap.

Because Branches or members that are breaking these SC rules does not have any impact on the rest of us. Whether that ticket goes to somebody who lives two minutes from the Etihad who’s joined the Jamaican supporters club a week prior just for a derby ticket or if it goes to Steve from Didsbury who has been getting tickets from his local branch for years it’s still a ticket out of geneeal circulation that’s unavailable to everybody else that isn’t a SC member.

The question was why not hammer this point home to people that might effect it, not that I agree with the distribution method.

I am not sure where the 7k supporters club members comes from and I would suggest is no where near an accurate figure if we have 200 plus supporters clubs. It is probably approaching three times as many.

Also you have made the distinction that 40k season ticket holder are separate to supporters club members in your 6 times as many analogy. They are not exclusive and season ticket holders will also be supporters club members, so the 6 times as many is not really accurate.

I do agree money talks in purchasing tickets sadly, like in any walk of life and football is no different.

In relation to supporters clubs and tickets I can see the benefits for the club as the odd ticket here and there does keep supporters clubs going, which provides a way of keeping distant fans engaged which does result in additional ticket sales. The fact is like everything in life going to football is habit forming and once people become disconnected from that its then difficult to engage them again for matches for less popular games to pick up the slack. For the club it probably makes commercial sense to keep a wide pool of fans engaged with attending matches.

However I am honest enough to see why other fans who attend most games would be disgruntled. Not sure there is a perfect system in all honesty.
