I think we overrate him by calling him top 2 in the world along side Van Dijk. He's comfortably our best CB. I've said before he'll benefit with a leader next to him as he doesnt lead the line himself and lack communication.

He is not top 10. Sorry! He is doing exactly what Stones did. Had a great run. Then has been generally poor. But folks are giving him a longer rope than they gave Stones.

His passing has gone to shits too.

The most worrying moment of his game tonight, and there were plenty, came in the opening ten minutes when he was left floundering in a foot race with the Lyon forward. Even with Koulibaly beside him, that lack of pace tonight should be a serious concern.

I think he will start over Laporte if Laporte keeps this up. Ake certainly wouldn't be getting beat time after time on the counter.
