Well this is shit news.

Not entirely his fault but just adds to the question marks over Txiki and his inability to close deals.
 
Shame that it looks like we have lost out to they lad but all things considered it is understandable from his point of view.

On the plus side at least this didn't drag out all summer and it gives us time to look at other options.

I'm sure I heard that the release clause in Spain is only applicable if the player himself pays the fee himself. Also, if the buying club were to give the player the money to pay the fee, then that money is also taxable so the fee would be a lot higher than the release clause.
Technically this is how transfers work anyway, isn't it? Because the player always has to buy himself out of his contract, so the money will go from buying club > player > selling club
 
Garry Cook and Co put Txiki to shame when selling the dream. Laporte will regret this just like Kaka,Torres etc...
