Aymeric Laporte

It's looking like it is. Regardless of what we say on here, the valuation comes down to what we will accept and what someone will offer.

At last! Someone on this thread who actually understands how any asset's 'true value' is established.

IMO, we've done well to get circa €30m for an unhappy player, free up £100k+ in wages, and open up another space in the squad.

there were always rumours that he is a "weird character".. whatever that means.
didn't deschamps cast him out of the national team because he thought aymeric didn't gel well with the rest of the group? thought I read something along those lines.
Be careful … you are going to upset the children.

Good Luck in Saudi Aymeric.

At least playing significant number of games albeit at a lower level.

City not going to sell him to Top 6 PL, as City know how good he is.

Below Top 6 they don't have monies to pay acceptable transfer fee

and his wages. Little monies in Europe too. So off to Saudi, City get

reasonable fee to offset some of Gvardiol fee, but a younger option.

So keep fit, will have number of Top Strikers still to deal with as Saudi

buying up more and more, and Spain still see him as Top C/B playing

lots of games. Win Win situation for all parties in most respects and

every transfer has compromises, living in Manchester one of them....
Haha little monies is bare cute

In some reports, less than £30m....

If he was as good as some fans think, he'd have attracted bids well in excess of £30m from top level clubs.

He's good, but he's not good enough for City or for any top level clubs to make a bid any more. Simple as that.

Not seen anything on a reported fee, but if it is 30m then fair enough, I was wrong. I still doubt it, and will wait for reports

Deschamps calling someone's character out.

Pot, meet kettle...

Which part?
All of it. Its bullshit

Him and Deschamps get get along, Deschamps is renowned for being a difficult character. Yet he actually did pick him before an injury ruled him out and Spain courted him. Played all his life in Spain and they still tried to get him for 3 years despite this "loner" myth.

Has been a superb professional at city, never a single rumbling of discontent, nothing about him being hard to work with. Only issue is wanting more minutes which is understandable. In fact, when we were totally up against it in 21/22 he was arguably our most important player, playing the run-in on one leg when all our other defenders were crocked. So much so that he was injured throughout the close season and into last season which ultimately cost him his place. Without him the dippers would have won that title. That shows huge character and being a top team mate to me.

Why do people think we would have accepted 30m for him? The same as mahrez who is 3.5 years older, and has a year less on his contract. Both from Saudi clubs.

It is much more likely be more than 50m, than 30 or less.

Just because our fans don't tate our own players, doesn't mean our club or the world don't.

wait…he and Dechamps get along?

Good luck to him.

I can't help but feel the club have treated him a bit shit if I'm honest. He's been a top professional for us and we've just pushed him into the cold. Hardly a Mangala situation is it.

We spent like two summers chasing him to sign as well, only to unceremoniously bin him off after a couple of years.

It's not often we do this but it does stink a bit if I'm honest.
