Back In For Sturridge

Mark Hughes has a lot to answer for. How anyone can play Ched Evans ahead of Sturridge is a joke. No wonder the lad wanted to move on and I cant blame him, yes part of it was greed but how pissed of would you be seeing a headless chicken like Ched playing ahead of you ?
I for one would love him back at City and believe he could play major part in our future.

£20m? Having a laugh. English tax and the scoucers would overpay for him anyway.

only if we sell dzeko, but we will have guidetti so theres no point

Would be English and homegrown both things we need for our squad

I'm English and home grown. I'm not good enough either. He had his chance and sacked us off....aguero, ballo, studge, Dzeko, , spot the odd one out, if you're struggling, look at the goals scored column this season :)

and so it goes on
Roberto Mancini laments the loss of Daniel Sturridge on the cheap

Rob Dawson February 29, 2012

If Roberto Mancini had his way, there would have been one more Manchester City player checking in at the Grove Hotel in North London on Sunday evening. City are well represented in Stuart Pearce’s squad with Joe Hart, Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards and Adam Johnson all swapping Carrington for London Colney ahead of the re-arranged friendly with Holland tonight. Mancini, however, remains disappointed that Daniel Sturridge only had to travel across the capital to join the England squad, instead of journeying from Manchester. So disappointed in fact, that the Italian, who arrived after Sturridge left City for Chelsea in 2009, made a point of challenging the striker in the tunnel after a game against Bolton at the end of last season. “I asked him last year when he played for Bolton why he left Manchester City and he said he didn’t know,” said Mancini. “I know Sturridge well, I have watched him many times. “Given the chance I think I would have liked to have kept him, but now he is at Chelsea we can do nothing. I know for sure he was one of the best young players that was here.” Pearce is well aware of Sturridge’s ability having blooded the then 17-year-old when manager of City and then taking him to the European Under-21 Championships last summer. After Carlo Ancelotti loaned him to Bolton, Andre Villas-Boas cast aside experienced campaigners like Nicolas Anelka, Florent Malouda and Saloman Kalou to make Sturridge central to his revolution at Chelsea. David Silva: I want to stay at Manchester City for at least two more years He's back! Carlos Tevez turns out for Manchester City EDS squad They are high-profile casualties of the 22-year-old’s rise but Mancini remains unsurprised. He is, however, willing to question why he was allowed to slip through the net at City. “It was not difficult to see that Sturridge was going to be a good player. It was strange because he started out in Manchester and someone let him out of the club for nothing.” Sturridge, who City insisted had asked for astronomical wages to stay, wasn’t allowed to leave for nothing. But the fee set by an FA tribunal – reported to be £3m rising to £6m – was a great deal lower than if it had been agreed on the inflated open market. If Jordan Henderson, a year Sturridge’s junior, is worth £20m to Liverpool then Sturridge, scorer of 11 goals for Chelsea from a wide position in a front three, could command double that, such is the demand for young, English talent. Sheikh Mansour has made a commitment to youth development by pledging £100m for a new training complex in the shadow of the Etihad Stadium. It’s money to make sure Sturridge is the last one who gets away.

I bet Liverpool wish they had accepted Chelsea original offer of £40m + Sturridge for Torres. Would have saved themselves the monster waste of money that was Andy Carroll for £35m!!!!!
