Do we need him? Well we are lacking in pace and width but he will want to play every game as a striker so doesn't really help us or himself.

No for the simple reason he wants to play centre forward when we have very good centre forwards already and one out on loan (actually two but Adebayor is as good as gone). Sturridge as a wide player is good (even if too greedy) but he's unhappy in that role and that's the entire reason for him being linked with a move away. I wouldn't mind seeing Sturridge back as he's one of our own but it'd have to be as a wide man and even then there are better on the continent we could go for.

His form for Bolton (and early this season for Chelsea) have dropped a bit, sure hes a great talent but I think at the moment with Guidetti coming back we will be ok with the striker situation.

If we lost Balo in the summer then we should go back for him but as it stands I think we have enough cover.
