I'm using a lot of heat related products to help ease the pain.

Lost aload of weight that helped but now the pain has returned after being away a few years.

Lower spine and middle are the two worst area. and a numb/sore right side of leg

Numbness is a sign you should get it looked at properly.

Funny you mention that, I’m finishing soon and might go down that route, I’ve heard the stuff from Holland and Barrett is crap what would you recommend?

Same here re the heat relief, I use a heat belt and that helps more than any meds for me.
Long walks help too.

Currently sit with a hot water bottle on my back and have lots of long walks with our new dog, it’s just every now and then it flares up and is almost unbearable and bloody depressing

I get drug tested every week I’m definitely not the person to ask :)

It does not have anything in it you need worry about.

I did a few years ago, said it was very early signs of arthirtis in the spine.
