Baconface given £60M transfer kitty?

Re: Sir Alex Ferguson given 60M transfer kitty?

They bid 30 for Dzeko and 30 for Sneijder - we do a Berbaflop on them, offer 35/40 each and they either drop out or go 20m over budget - result MORE debt ;)
Think our owners will be watching every move and will try and scupper the coont one way or another inducing his incendiary Scottish ire :-p

I'm probably going to get a lot of abuse now, but I honestly get the impression that Manure are going to be the next club to be taken over. Before you all laugh, something's gone on behind the scenes and I honestly don't think Ferguson has made the whole thing up. It's very bizarre. Rooney to change his mind like that speaks volumes really, and has just left me wondering whether they've got a potential buyer! Eek! x

They've saturated their business prospects. Unless they can convince penguins in antartica to don their rags or open a megastore in machu pichu, they've almost max their market.

Buyers would go for potential investments. That's my thought.

Re: Sir Alex Ferguson given 60M transfer kitty?

Could £60M coincidentally be the figure placed on Rooney's head now that he has signed a new deal. A la Ronaldo they sell him to Madrid in the summer, under a year after he signs a new contract. And hey presto Fergie does indeed have a £60M transfer kitty. Too cynical?

Re: Sir Alex Ferguson given 60M transfer kitty?

I seem to remember the statements
'we have money in the bank'
'I have the money from the Ronaldo sale'
'We have money but theres no value in the market' etc
So either he was lying when he said that or this storys rubbish

Big names will command big wages, presumably, so increasing the debt.

This - I have always said the transfer fee is not the issue (one time hit) but the wages have to be paid over the life of the contract.

Also what are the other players in the current squad thinking Rio, Vidic and Evra will be happy to see the outcome of things. More money for slagging everyone at the club :-)

Rooney gets sold for £60 million, err, there's you're £60 million!

i concur, its all going to end in tears

Re: Sir Alex Ferguson given 60M transfer kitty?

Even if they had that money (which they don't) they will be out of the title running by January and January signings are rarely a success in the season that they are bought anyway.

They will be 4th when when the window opens and they will finish 5th.

If Utd's Champions League Top 4 position is under serious threat by December it would be madness for them not to try and strengthen.

But doing so in January is not easy
