May well be the case but will be still be banned for being " reckless or negligent ".

Most of the media have got it in for him because it gives them something to keep them in the news for a while.

The wave of public opinion is he should be outed for four matches so the panel will swim with the tide as always and ignore the facts and the doubt.

You would hope given the English judicial system that if it was a court matter it would be thrown out.

It should be the same under an FA panel.

It's a contact sport and accidents happen.

Players like Keane and Shearer would no longer spend more than 20 per cent of the season on the pitch if they handed out bans like the one Balotelli will get on a consistant basis.
