Against United I thought he was excellent first half, and Mancini thought he was wank.

From what I read it was more about a failure to carry out instructions than the general quality of his play.

Pretty sure that it was after the derby Mancini went back to his "he has all the talent but he is throwing it out of the window" quote. Whatever his specific gripe was, the upshot was he got the hook when I thought he hadn't particularly done anything to warrant the hook, never mind a post match dressing down.

He looked 'Arsed' yesterday and Edin did not at all.

I take your word for it mate. As I say I haven't seen the game and can only go off what the match reports and what people on here say.

Do you think he did enough to start against Arsenal over Dzeko ?

Yes I do but then I would favour him over Edin purely in football terms 9/10 times.
On yesterday's evidence alone I thought he had a focus about him, a physical threat/prescence and a willingness to shoot on sight which set up one goal and almost another for Tevez.

I think his stats hold up if you look at mins on the pitch.

Depends on which Mario shows up. No doubt the Mario we saw against the rags last season at $old Trafford walks into the team ahead of Edin. The Mario who showed up at the Emirates last season wouldn't get in the match day squad. That's the trouble with someone as erratic and inconsistent as him.

I thought he played OK on the day too.

From what I read he was tasked with running at Ferdinand at every opportunity. Didn't do it in the first half and was told again. Didn't do it in the first few minutes and that's why he got the hook. Cant remember where it came from, and in the long run doesn't really matter too much one way or the other.

Spot on. It's now got to the point that when I see his name on the team sheet I'm thinking 'what will happen today.' And not always in a good way.
