balotelli or negredo?

Balotelli City last year: starts:9 subs:12 goals:3 assists:2 yellow:3 red:0
AC milan this year

not even close when you factor in the headaches and games he'll be suspended for. Balo is the focal point for the team yet Negredo has as many goals in fewer starts.
How does his previous season and overall trophies measure up?

It's a very broad question. Balotelli could hit a level Negredo just doesn't have in him. Negredo is five years older and arguably at his peak. Potential goes to Balotelli, the present goes to Negredo. However, the more pertinent question who is better for our team? Negredo is by some distance. He adds to us in a lot ways; skillful; strong; good in the air; and crucially is on Aguero's wavelength which Balotelli rarely was.

As an aside, we should look back on Balotelli fondly. He was a big part of our two trophy winning seasons and was often crucial at critical moments. He will also live in the memories and the imagery of those seasons whether you like it or not, so you might as well enjoy it, and love him as he loves us.

That's about as close to a perfect post as you're likely to find.

Bang on.

Pass me a fucking bucket ffs :p

But he is right, Mario gave us so much fun and anguish in his off the game life and so much wonderful skill and anguish in his play. But Negredo in his play is a far better team player without the fun.

It's always been about potential with Mario.

Years ago it was "He's only 20, he has the potential to be one of the best..."

Now it's "He's only 23, he has the potential to be one of the best..."

That's the problem, it's passing him by. He hasn't yet reached Negredo's level never mind being behind only Messi and Ronaldo...

So as of now it's a no-brainer that Negredo is better then there's the infamous "potential" argument, Mario could do this and that, if he only he had as much faith in himself as some on here do.

The bit about the bucket I should say

I'll always have a soft spot for Mario and wonder what he could have achieved had things gone different in his time at the club. Like Skashion says, enjoy the memories and wish him well for the future.
The Beast is rightly regarded better right now though and I couldn't wish for a better partner for Aguero. Long may they continue.

Loved Balotelli and hated Ballotelli , a brilliant individual player , and if he plays for the right club with the right coach he would be the best player in the world , i know he would destabilise our squad , but i would have him back tomorrow , the game has so few characters , i would pay a lot of money to watch mario , i wouldnt cross the road to watch the likes of gareth bale.
Negredo is a player who wont accept 2nd best , fights and plays for the team , a modern day uwe rosler , he could be one of the all time great city centre forwards.
So i would want both players .

Interesting and surprising to me there are still some who think Mario could be the best player in the world. Not even close for me and now he is missing penalties his value to a team has gone down even further. Are Milan in the bottom half of their league?

Wow well done him he scored the 3rd in a win at Celtic. It's not that he isn't a good footballer because he is but just nothing like the world superstar that some still believe he has the potential to be. And yes occasionally he does something special and has really good game but come on he isn't that good a player to be anywhere near to being one of the best players in the world.I wouldn't have him in the top 50. Not sure if Negredo would be either but I would have him before Mario every time.
