Err, yea. A 'clown' who at 21 already boasts these as some of his achievements:

UEFA Champions League (1): 2009–10
Manchester City
FA Cup (1): 2011
IndividualGolden Boy Award (1): 2010
FA Cup Final Man of the Match: 2011

I don't think he's a clown, I don't think he's a legend, I just think he's a supremely talented young boy who only needs time and to avoid injuries in order to grow into one of the best strikers in the world. It';s a bit sad how Ciy fans whinge about fellow City fans loving him for his so called off field antics. So what if they do? I don't. I don't really give a fuck about them. His stories serve up about 2 minutes of mild entertainment in the pub and that's about it. What I give a fuck about is him as a footballer and some of you expect far too much for a 21 year old boy. Yes he doesn't do himself any favours and he';s in poor form at the moment but his goal scoring record speaks for itself and when he really settles and gets the bit between his teeth he's gonna be a world beater

Trouble is mate he will still get the individual golden boy award in 5 years time.

More likely he'll mature like Micah did and we'll have a hell of a player on our hands

Really do hope so fella, hes got a head full of magic though.

I'm a fan, but as talented as he his, and as much potential as he has, this is the line in the article that rang true the most -

Just play football FFS, the circus is starting to get on peoples tits now.

The same article that has a main story which is completely false?

It doesnt matter if true or not, just want a striker that scores goals, couldnt give a fuck what he does off the pitch and if he wasnt such an attention whore, we wouldnt know.

Like I said at the top of my last comment, big fan, like the lad a lot and hes capable of greatness when he can be arsed. Legend cos he drove into a prison? Cos he gatecrashed a press conference? No thanks.

Certainly not according to me so please don't make assumptions. I just don't understand why it always has to be one extreme or another.

The media certainly don't care about the truth, to them it's probably like a movie being played out where they write the script as they go along, no regard for being seen as liars, no regard for constantly battering someone's reputation, none of that. So when i read lines like: His ability to generate negative stories is beginning to overshadow his performances, it's all bullshit to me as it just fits in perfectly with the movie they're writing. It's not Balotelli who picks the sensationalist headlines is it? Should he stop living because they'll write negative stories? If anything, he's better getting on with his life as the hacks will make it up anyway like they've done again. Just sad when fans seem to be swallowing it whole.

Ok, so this thread has gone from slagging Balotelli for this bust up, which when turned out to be false, just went into slagging Balotelli.

Anybody who thinks we should get rid of Balotelli should be shot. In the face with a shotgun preferably, but I'll take the old "out of a cannon, directly into the heart of the Sun" cliche if we can spare the funds for it.

Either way, do his off the field antics ACTUALLY matter? Not even in the slightest bit. It has no effect on his football or on the team. It has absolutely nothing to do with how he performs, how he trains or how he prepares. And that's all I'm interested in. You guys can follow his every move like some weird Big Brother fascination, sat in your ivory towers explaining how a young footballer should behave (because you lot have LOADS of experience of this obviously) but I prefer to let him do his talking on the pitch as that's actually what we pay him for and that's actually his job.

Balotelli on the pitch has been very good. Not great, but very good. He's scored 15 in 27 this year and every time Dzeko starts, it just shows how much we miss his movement and technique. He also consistently wins fouls for us in dangerous positions, which is great for a team as big physically as ours. He also is great defensively and works hard for the team. We're a better team with him in it.
Those who "can't remember a good game since the 6-1" have the memory of a goldfish. He was transcendal against Blackburn at home and was the key to our victory, he also played a very good game against Bolton. He was disappointing against Stoke, Chelsea and Sporting but to be fair, who hasn't been?

The threads on here are laughable. Some of you sound like housewifes bitching about people because you have nothing better to do. Either that, or his image in the media has warped your fragile little minds. I saw him get slagged off on here the other day because he went on holiday instead of doing extra training (mainly because every player went on holiday). There's no defence for that; none, it's utterly ridiculous. They are basically holding him up to a higher standard than anybody else and slagging him off when he does not meet these requirements. That's creating your own argument, you can do that with anybody in the world including Messi. The justification for this is that he "lacks form". I don't see criticism of Dzeko, Aguero, Silva or Nasri for this reason though and they are all attacking players who lack form (many of them playing much worse than Balo).

Those "liability" people are also smoking fecal matter from the devils arse. Balo has had 4 yellow cards and 1 red card this season. This makes his disciplinary record about the same as Fernando Torres and much, MUCH less than violent criminals like Gareth Barry, Johnny Evans and Robin Van Persie. As far as giving away fouls, he gives away the same amount as recently paroled Antonio Valencia and is just behind possible serial killers David Ngog and Tim Cahill. I can see why you're all worried.

If Balotelli was never mentioned in the press, these criticisms would be far less. That alone should show you the value of the argument against him. The absolute BEST line I've read on here though, the one that had me simultaneously cracking up and facepalming, was when someone said "we should get rid of him, he creates too much press attention to the club". Yeah, City hate press attention. We're going to grow our international brand purely through sending chain letters on Facebook.

An 11 page thread based on the fact that

1 - Balotelli avoided being punished for being late by....being on time.

and

2 - Mancini might have shouted at Balotelli....or he might not have.

Next week, Joe Hart avoids a murder trial by not murdering anyone whilst Yaya avoids accusations of child abuse by not abusing children.

I see what your getting at i do, i just do not think they lie as much as you make out.

I would be in extasy if we saw him step up here as i think he would rip any league apart if he just applies himself.
I am just not seeing that from him, or even signs of it which would placate me and many others i think.

It appears that poor Mario has to sit at home watching TV or playing video games and turn up for training and the matches but never, ever be seen in public because if he sneezed it would be an excuse for the media to report negatively!!

Just because a player has a personality doesn't mean he is always in the wrong. I am beginning to feel sorry for the lad.

Damocles in slagging off half the forum shocker. I love Balo but you should really remove your cock from his arse and accept that he often brings this shit upon himself.

Summed up magnificently.

Nah that'd just create new headlines.

Balotelli in violent video game addiction scandal.

We can reveal today that Balotelli enjoys violent video games and has recently avoided a long stretch in prison by not killing any prominent members of Parliament (the funk group not the MPs) .
