Emphasis has shifted on Inter and Manchester City in the deal for Mario Balotelli after the player agreed personal terms. And now it's down to the clubs to agree on a new transfer fee: €26 million plus bonuses.

Sky Sport Italia reports Mino Raiola, the player's agent, and a lawyer working on Balotelli's behalf met with Inter director Marco Branca.

Raiola informed the transfer director that his client has agreed personal terms with City, believed to be worth €3.5m per annum over five years.

However, City have changed strategy, and they are offering Inter a lower transfer fee.

Previous reports suggested the clubs had agreed on €30m plus bonuses which could take the deal up to €35m in total.

Now City are offering €26m plus bonuses, €4m shy of what Inter were hoping to receive.

But despite the latest change, voices from the Nerazzurri camp are optimistic and a deal should be concluded within days once Inter agree on a final closing fee with City.

Earlier Raiola said he was "hopeful and working towards closing a deal with City".

just give inter the 30 million euros plus bonuses, and be done with it. Considering we paid 32 mill for robinho plus his 160.000 grand a week, it seems like a decent deal to me

I think City have said to the agent if you want your fee it has to come from your player or the selling club not us, so if we pay you we pay Inter less so we are no worse off. Agent goes back to Inter and says they want to pay you less.

Just a guess reading between the lines.

Indeed. Wow is a good word for him.

Although we should clearly 'walk away' because his agent is a) fat and b) doing his job.

You show 'em City!
Very bad idea, if you ask me. His agent only do his job like all other agents, only difference is he very good at it.

whoosh?
