Balotelli.

As much as I love him and want him to come to us, if he EVER put a Man U jersey on, imagine the controversy!

That said I really want him here, he will be great and Mancini can coach him up to be as great as his potential.

On a side note, I dont know how many on here can speak French, but here is a video of a French report about the racism directed towards Balotelli:

with most of the players we have bought this transfer window im excited because they are already fantastic players.. e.g. silva, yaya, etc.

but with balotelli, if we sign him, im actually excited to see what he can become.

I can't see any argument against this guy, his potential is there for all to see. You might baulk at the price tag but the fact remains at his age even if he flops he still has very good resale value.

he won't have a great re-sale value if (when) he's pants in the Prem. 30 - 50% of what we pay for him is my guess.

I think we have got the message you don't rate him. Not sure why you are leading a one man crusade against this signing - you are obviously entitled to your opinion but, we have got the message that you don't rate him and you don't think we should sign him.

And that right there is the main thing mate. He has been horribley racialy abused in every stadium he has played at in Italy. Including a large section of his own fans (if that's what you can call them).

The Balotelli here will be a completely different guy. He will take to the bonkers City fans like a duck to water. Mark my words. No wonder he's been behaving a bit rebelious. He's an absolute saint for not twating anybody over there.

Unfortunately the Italians are a million years behind us in terms of racial equality. Black or white we couldn't give a shit. All we care about is whever or not he puts a shift in on the pitch. He's going to love it here. And we will love him.

because he is a rag.and a sad one at that.

I really don't get why so many question the transfer, if Mancini see fit i really think we should have confidence in him to make that decision. I understand £25/30m is a lot to spend on a young player who has potential, however, with the type of transfer kitty we have at our disposal, I can not see it as much of a risk that some do, if we only had £25/30m for our entire budget, then obviously it would represent a huge gamble.

I personally don't think he's a rag, but an overly conservative blue.

For me it boils down to this: this player could be one of the best strikers in the world. He could also be an arse... but the opportunity to get a player of this potential at this age doesn't come every day. Unlike other clubs we can afford to take the risk!

If you'd rather have another striker or worry about his attitude that's fine, but to dimiss him as a definate flop is laughable.

OK, so you're a Tory but at least you've learn to spell as well as us Labour boys. Seriously, liberals are much more clever than Conservatives. Innit.

I wonder if he realises that the sort of overt racism associated with Italian football and it's fans would not be tolerated here. He'd have a far better time in England.

Nice one Blake. I knew there were problems with racism over there but it sounds a lot worse than I thought it was. Why don't Uefa do something about this instead of buggering about with financal stuff and sticking their noses into other people's business.

i think balotelli will be an amazing young signing for us! he's proven his ability time and time again, and if you are worried about attitude mancini can sort him out im sure..
he is a great type of player, very passionate. i would welcome him to city for many years to come

hoping we sign him !

Fifa put i nice smiley face on the whole issue with the "Kick racism out of Football" campaign. I can't knock the sentament but the reality is there are some footballing nations out there, and not just in Europe, who are incredibly racist.

The three worst in Europe though are without a doubt Greece, Italy and Spain. Clarence Seedorf has commented on numerous occasions how the further south in Italy you go the worse it gets. Monkey chants are common place and there has even been reports of mindless twats throwing Bannanas on the pitch when Black palyers are playing. The "Old Country" Sicillians are as intolarent as it gets. Palermo is supposed to be especialy awfull. Milan is in the north but even there Black faces are few and far between.

However the most sickening thing about the whole Balotelli thing is because he (quite rightly) claims Italian nationality. To see a Black man who is young and increadibly talented and has an Italian name like Mario Balotelli who claims to be Italian is too much for the neanderthals who support Serie A to accept.

The same can be said of Spain. On a slightly lesser scale but not by much. Indeed you only have to look at our own Yaya Toure. He has suffered plenty of racial abuse by the simpletons who support La Liga sides. Indeed some believe the very reason he was allowed to leave was because of Busquets being Basque and "Fitting in" better than the supior player of Yaya Toure. Ah well. Their loss is our gain :-)

I'm not for one second saying English fans are perfect. We all know some are far from it. But in matters of Ethnic diversity in our game and our views on equal rights. We are MILES ahead of those other nations.

pedantic sod - slagging your own team's players is just fucking shit, plain and simple, thats the end of it. For you it is ok to slag off the players you dont like but not for other people to slag off the players you do like - for me it is bad to slag players of the club off full stop.

1st..i never go to a game and slag a player off....EVER!!! (UNLIKE SOME FANS)
2ND...Yes its ok to do it on a forum which is about opinions
3rd...do youthink garrido and rsc are good enough or not?...is it slagging them off to say in my opinon they are not good enough...i certainly dont go questioning their mental state etc etc as some do about ireland...now that is slagging off...all i do is question their footballing ability (after all it is a football forum!!!!!!!!!!!)....it has nothing to do whether i like them or not (im sure garrido and rsc are both very nice people!)

I cannot comment at what you are like at games can I as I do not know who you are so all I can judge you on is how and what you post on here - and I have to say you are in my honest opinion a poster whose posts are VERY negative, but I am sure your support, fervour and positivity is second to none at the games, I can tell that based on your boundless enthusiasm and positivity on this board

Mancini isn't stupid. If Balotelli becomes available, we will sign him without question. This kind of talent doesn't become available that often and when it does you take it.

Folks talking about Dzeko and Adebayor - they aren't in the same league of talent.

Inter know what they have and what they'll be losing but it just won't work for him in Italy so he is better off here with a team going places, home fans who will potentially adore him, away fans who won't abuse him and a coaching staff he can relate to.

Come and join us Mario, dying to see you in our classy blue kit(s).

Didn't it say somewhere that Marwood was doing the negotiations with Lazio regarding Kolarov, and that Cook was dealing with Inter? Only on the OS on the training day 4 video clip, which was put on this morning, you can clearly see Cook over there with the squad.
