Balotelli

One thing should worry Balo - if he doesn't make it here, I doubt he'll make it anywhere as much as his fans think he will.

Nobody would treat him on the way Mancini does and he'll see more Mourinho/Inter moments than those songs City fans do for him.

Unless he radically changes him self that I doubt will ever completely happen.

Granted Mancini has given Balo plenty of leeway, but he has also matured from last season and will continue to mature vis a vis his performances for City. Anyway, talented players always get more leeway than less talented ones. Rooney and Ronaldo both had the same issues when they were younger. Robben is still a moody fucker with an attitude problem and he's pushing 30!

Mature????? You talking about 22-year old professorial player. He is mature jut a little bit nervous and he got wild temper. That is all what he needs to suppress.

I agree to some degree..

Still don't think he should be added to same sentence with Ronaldo and Messi (I laughed my arse when Mancini did it some time ago), even Robben.

Talented yes, if he matures a lot, and again I doubt he ever will in full form, he might be very good player but he'll never come close to Messi or Ronaldo levels.

Ronaldo and Messi are arguably the two best players to EVER play professional football on the world stage - so yes - I can understand you saying he has a long way to go before he can be spoken about honestly in the same breath as them. The point Mancini was making, and some of us have seen it, is that Balo has all the raw materials. Pace, power, unbelievable technique, vision, awareness, movement, finishing. When he plays to his potential he is literally unplayable. However he's very young and currently is being asked to lead the line in our title charge, partly because of just how shite Dzeko has been, which is a huge responsibility. Not to mention players at his age are rarely consistent either in performances or mentality.

Why do you doubt he will mature when I've just given you two examples of players who at his age were having their attitude and temperament and ego questioned in Rooney and Ronaldo ? He may not be the "good guy" that Messi is, but nor is he the complete liability which many people suggest he is.

He needs time and a little pressure taking off his shoulders, which would have happened had Tevez not gone AWOL and had Edin been half the player he was at Wolfsburg.

Same as earlier - agree to some degree.

I can see potential in him but not as much as Mancini and some City fans do.

I doubt any expert share Mancini's views on him to full degree.

Anyway, he doesn't do himself a justice and he can have all talent of the world if he doesn't change some stuff about himself radically, and if he doesn't do it soon the reputation he'll have would stop him to make big career.

He'll have few bucks for sure anyway, that's the good part for him :)

I don't believe he has matured Billy tbh bud.

The stamp on parker showed me this. This is my main issue, he has showed no sign of maturing imo, non.

His scoring is ok it all the other stuff i want to see change.
If i'm really honest his attitude stinks far to often, seeing him throw a hissy because other players pull him up for doing something silly is very annoying.

That and the general slumped shoulders and misserable demeanor. Yes he is pictured smiling all the time in training but show some of that on the fucking pitch ffs.
Sitting on the floor for 5 mins smacking the ground because he did not get a foul, these things piss me of as a fan.

Fuck the fucking t-shirts Mario fucking buck your ideas up man.

He needs to realize we need a cool head that is focussed, not a giddy kid.

If i was his age i would probably be the same if i was so rich but that does not help the team.

For this reason MCFC_Mark's suggestion of a loan move to a well managed mid table club sounds good for him. I doubt his ego will allow that though.

I want him to do well here, i hate knocking any of our players but this is my genuine feelings about him atm, i hope he rams these words down my neck.

Balotelli is a great player, and so is Cassano. The sky is the limit for him [Balotelli]. He can do everything on the pitch.

That's Ancelloti.

Even Mourinho who supposedly despised him said this:

The guy has incredible qualities, but sometimes does not know how to use his brain.

I also think you need to have a little think about things like this:

That kind of treatment allied with the systematic racist abuse he grew up with mitigates some of his lack of maturity and also his "maverick" nature.

Anyway, we're blessed having the strikers we have. If all 4 of them played to their potential for 80% of the season we'd clean up!

I believe overall his performances have matured from last season. Yes he still has the occasional rush of blood to the head, but he's very young. As I say, Ronaldo and Rooney both had big disciplinary and attitude problems at his age. I'm not saying he's the finished article and a lot of what frustrates you about him, even if I don't feel the same way, I understand why you feel that way. We need to judge him solely on his performances on the field and leave the off field static for the tabloids. On the pitch this season, up until about eight weeks ago, he was comfortably our best forward and certainly the best at playing at the very spearhead of our attack.

Don't get me wrong - he frustrates the fuck out of me at times too ... however I made a point earlier which I think is important. Had Tevez not gone AWOL and had Dzeko not been as bad as he's been, Mario wouldn't have to play on when his own form dipped.

That kind of treatment is foul by player who lost his cool and happened trillion times in football history. Racism thing is a shit though but there's no racism in England ;) at least not at some consistent level

Balotelli brings lot of target stuff on himself by being arrogant on the pitch, he often argue with opposite fans, fans hate his goal celebrations (I'm sure you would target any player that would score against City and than take that "it was piece of cake" pose Balo does) etc..

It's football, it's not opera, any player is targeted by fans and specially those that love to play supercool madafaka gangsta stuff on the pitch.

That's true the poor form of others amplified any short comings he has defo.

If he was 25 and like this i reckon most would be wanting to see the back of him. His age is his saving grace here as you say he is young and foolish.

What do you think to the idea of a loan to a well managed club like Sunderland or Fulham for a few months ?.
I say that because i would be pissed of if we sell him just as his head matures and some other buggers see the best of him.

Again, you're either being deliberately disingenuous, or you don't know enough about Mario to be making facetious comments like the one above. The "arrogance" is not that at all. It's a remnant from being a 16 year old black kid playing professional football in Italy and having to keep your head down and not draw attention to yourself. The fact that in a world of orchestrated cringeworthy embarrassing celebrations, he sees scoring a goal as his job and would rather get on with the game, should be applauded rather than dismissed as arrogance.

You reference there being no racism in England as if that means that a 22 year old kid who's spent 20 of those years on this earth being racially abused and living in a particularly racist and unforgiving environment, should somehow just get over it because now he's in a different country. The psychological effects of that type of abuse can last for decades.

I like you generally as you're not one of those OTT Dzeko supporters - but I have to be honest - in this thread your beginning to sound like you've misplaced your objectivity!
