One of the stupidest things you've ever read? Why can't most folk on here be reasonably civil without resorting to embarrassing over exaggerations?
Rooney and Van Persie seem to have scored a few belters and the standard of goal they both score is way above most of what Mario has scored for us.

now your really trying, this is the stupidest thing i`ve ever read on here.

rooney is what 26, van persie 28 at a guess. balotelli is nowhere near the finished article he may never be, but like to see him become a great here hopefully.

in the end we have a manager who believe if he stops believing he`ll get rid.

believing in him might cost him his job

it may, it may not, surely that should tell you in itself how highly bob rates balotelli.

i wont cry if balotelli leaves but i`ll be close to it if he leaves and becomes the player bob expects him to become

I criticise Balotelli and I'm accused of racism, despite Yaya being my favourite City player closely followed by VK.

Those who are vigorously defending Balotelli have a definite agenda, and I'm looking at you didactic and jumanji.

He's a complete liability pure and simple, there is no other way to dress this up. He costs us in more games than he helps us. He should not be in the team at the moment.

Anyone who defends him is doing so without taking the reality of the situation into account.

I totally agree. It surely does not take this long for a player to begin showing the 'potential' we keep hearing about, while spending too long on the ground looking at the referee and generally doing nothing to make me think he'll become the player we want him to be. I've lost patience with him, and if we do sell him and he becomes a world-class player, so be it. At least we'll have the memories of his time here. For me, however, he's not the player for us at this moment in time.

Roberto Mancini is obviously fiercely loyal to his fellow countryman , Mario Balotelli ....

that's clear to everyone.

But also clear to everyone is Balotellis lack of impact at a time when we need it most ....... his attitude in recent games has been pityful , and not what you want to see from a player wishing to win a title medal ....... he cannot complain if he gets dropped , and neither can Dzeko for that matter!

Mancini's stubborness can be seen in various facets of his management, Balotelli is just one example.

Any player who aligns themselves just to a manager, no good can ever come of it.

We have seen it with some of Hughes' purchases and how they have hurt us.

From a neutral perspective, it seems to me that many City fans on here love Mario by judging his 'character' rather than his 'ability' and that whilst there's no doubt he could be a very good player, people's judgement tends to be clouded by the fact that Mario likes to be Mario.

Yes he's young and I've heard all this tough upbringing malarchy many a time but I've yet to see anything 'magical' from him yet which has made me sit up and think 'Wow, this guy is world class'! There's a number of players out there who at Mario's age have proved they have the dedication, willingness and ability to be labelled 'world class' or potentially world class' and be able to apply all of that onto the football pitch on a consistant basis.

Obviously you lot see him a lot closer than me who can only watch your games on Sky or on MOTD but it feels to me as though if Balotelli didn't have this 'loveable character' trait that he has, many of his recent display's wouldnt be defended as much.

I've not seen him play much better than Dzeko this season yet the abuse Dzeko gets on here is ridiculous compared to Balotelli and i believe if Balotelli had the same character as, say Dzeko, the abuse would be similar.

As I've said, I've seen the odd glimps of how good he can be. I even saw a few back at Inter. The problem is, they are too few and far between and when the chips are down like they are now you need all the players who you believe could be the mustard to go out there and prove it but with Mario, I just don't see it.

This is what put a divide in the squad when Balo first arrived on the scene.

He was given loose reigns and special treatment which didn't go down too well with other members of the squad, especially those who got punished for things Balo was getting away with.

Trouble with Balotelli is his inconsistency ..... at his age he should have the footballing world at his feet , yet all too often he allows himself to get involved in the 'unsavoury' side of the game.

We have witnessed some of his goals in days gone by at City , and some of them have been world class .... but he doesn't yet have the ability , or nous , to be able to take a game by the scruff of it's neck , when things are going against us , and make it his own .... in the way that Messi would.

I think it comes down to an age thing. I maybe generalising so apologies if anyone's offended by this, but I tend to find younger supporters love Mario as much for his "character" as his ability, whereas older supporters tend not to care about the "character" one way or another and just judge him on his ability and his performances.

The unfortunate thing is that there's a small minority of Balotelli supporters who seem to be taking it to a point where you feel like they care more about him than they do about the club. Actually, very similar to a small minority of Dzeko supporters.

I can't say I've noticed that to be honest. The Dzeko things is unmissable however.

My take on Balotelli is that he's far from the finished article. Unfortunately, with the Tevez situation, we've had to rely on Balotelli when his form should have dictated he wasn't involved. 3 strikers for the majority of the season has meant that, with Balotelli and Dzeko being off form for several games we've still had to play at least one of them. Aguero's injury combined with Tevez's inability to play 90 minutes meant we had to field both Balotelli and Dzeko at Stoke, something that most viewed as a worrying situation pre-match and the game its;ef didn't do anythign to alieve those worries.

Yeah, you're right about the Dzeko thing - it is unmissable! I guess I see a similarity in that I see a small group who don't like either player being criticised regardless of how warranted it is, and will defend them to the detriment of another player if that makes sense.

Totally agree with the rest of your post.
