Mario to AC Milan??

It might be just media bullshit but is anyone worried that we'll lose Mario at the end of January without any time to replace him? We can't manage with only 3 strikers if we want to retain the league

We will be fine until the end of the season, besides all of the top strikers will not be sold this month.

Why...? Most clubs in the world manage with that many. No other club on this planet has four strikers with such high profiles as ours. We'll have a fourth striker (Guidetti) fit before too long and we can also play one up front if necessary with three of Silva/Nasri/Yaya/Milner(.../Sinclair) behind.

when he goes we will be left with a big hole in our lives, he's one of those likable rouges. sadly not good enough at this time for where we want to be. bet we buy him back in 5 years.

A frequent poster on here is quite and fiercely adamant the fee we paid to aquire Balo was 18 million.
I heard €22m, which is about £18m. That means he's on the books at £9m.
Could we miss out on FFP or was that scare mongering?
It will be tight I think which, unless we've got a juicy commercial deal in the pipeline, is why we can't afford to turn down a decent offer for Mario. But even if we don't make it this time, we're heading solidly in the right direction.

This season, financially we need to make up for our crap performance in the CL. The money being talked about would give us a very nice profit on sale, which would probably equate to a QF appearance in the CL. He's not essential so we should snatch their hands off & get rid. Might even be the difference between making FFP and failing it.

So we won't be spending the money we make on him then?

Another January loan special it is then.
We can spend. The way players are accounted for we can take a nice profit on Balotelli and only incur a small charge for a new player.

If we paid £22m for him 2.5 years ago on a 5 year contract he's "worth" £11m now. If we sell him for £30m we will show a £19m profit. If we buy someone else for £30m on a 5 year contract, that will incur an expense of £3m this year. That's a net profit of £16m.

P Blue: Thanks for your continual info on FFP . The recent reports about the 'letter from the big 4' to the Premier League requesting FFP be applied to the Premier League made depressing reading because the media keep banging on that we are going to suffer once Gill gets his way. You give me hope that this bid will fail and due to increased commercial revenue and careful transfers, we shall be able to compete with the Arse's and Scumbags who are trying to derail our bid to be a world class club.
