I think Watford (or similar) might be a good move.
He’s failed at a number of clubs now but you’d argue the best spell of his career was when he was with us and playing regularly. Having said that there was massive pressure with us and he was often not up to the job although he played his part in a title win. Following that two failures where he has not settled – he must realise now he needs to get back to playing football.
Dropping down the league would guarantee him game time and a supportive environment (assuming said club accept him for who he is) and he could get back to his best and beyond quite easily IMO. He would certainly have something to prove.
I like the guy but we don’t owe him a rehabilitation.
