It might spur him on even more to know that his artwork is provoking such attention.
Ah, the great dichotomy of the strictly anonymous artist who craves attention. The 'medium' has sort of lost its surprise value / impact now though. Still clever and insightful, but the whole 'street' / graffiti thing is itself a bit of a tired cliché now. A bit like how red nose day used to be funny.

I doubt it has become as clichéd as you think, just evolves like all art movements.

It just seems like another bit of life that people can moan about.
