Barca v City Post Match Thread

Lots of talk of how Barca were not at their best last night misses the point that we did not allow them to be at their best.
That was a good performance by tha boys last night right until that moment of madness by Bravo.
I cannot for the sake of me understand why he handled that shot when he new exactly what the consequences would be.
Pep was spot on tactically. Those calling for his head should hang theirs in shame.

It was one of those nights, end of. Nothing went for us, everything against, these do seem to happen to us more often than the other way round and I've lost count of the amount of times I've said "why doesnt anyone ever slip when they play us, why doesnt their keeper ever have a mare when they play us", instead we seem to come up against either a team upping their game or a keeper doing a decent impression of a demented cat on speed or a combination of both.

Boil it all down, we went to the camp nou and came away with a 4-0 defeat. On paper it looks like a thrashing, like we got taught a lesson etc but the reality is very different. When down a goal we get a penalty at the stroke of h/t and actually manage to score it, we would have had a very interesting second half and I suspect a result more reflective of the (pre sending off) performance where I felt we went toe to toe with a great team and looked upto the task. We got punished for every one of our individual errors, the likes of which usually occur once every six or seven games and if lady luck is smiling we get away with half the time (like in the derby). The scoreline suggests defensively we had a mare. I'm as much if not more concerned with our current inability to convert gilt edged chances, be they penalties, free headers or whatever.

I am not too disheartened. At times I thought we were the better side but we didn't take our chances. 3 big mistakes from Bravo, Gundogan and KDB, plus a slip from Fernandinho cost us dearly.

We need to cut out these stupid mistakes and find some bloody studs that don't leave our players slipping over all the time.
Do not deceive yourself, Barcelona played without two great players for 80 minutes or so.

Gutted at the scoreline but take lots from the performance til we went down to 10 men. game over after that but im glad we didn't shut up shop and still had a go at them.. we will do good against them back at ours.

rhe whole put your boot through it and row z things being spouted are ridiculous, that pass was easy and he fucked it up simple as that

Yeah, but I always get a feeling Bravo is late to pass, he waits until the opposition player reaches very close to him before passing the ball.

Odd game - you don't often get one that you could have lost 6-0, or drawn, (or even won?)

Lots of if this and if that's......if my Auntie has balls she'd be my Uncle.

Simple fact is we lost 4-0 end of and after a 3-3 draw in Glasgow, we have 1 point from 6.

Must do much better or we might end up on the Thursday night shift ourselves.
