Jack Wilshire and Nyland both cancelled their contracts with their clubs on transfer deadline day to enable them to sign outside the window, if they waited a day they woul dhavebeen stuck until Jan.
But you can't do that without the clubs agreement. Its very rare that a club thinks that cancelling a contract with no fee paid for a player is a good move, players can buy themselves out but again - its rare.

Messi could do that, but as ever with Barca its down to how the fans react and they are not going let anything happen that the fans don't approve of.

Does this mean we can get away with paying Messi a smaller salary? He will be on less than this summer due to the pay cut by the time we can get him.

As most people know Barcelona are 'fan owned''. At the other end of the spectrum is Mini Rags of Manchester who are also fan owned. I have read a lot from David Conn saying this is how all clubs should be run and he has often used the model to attack us.

Anyone heard from him recently ?

That confirms what Corky has claimed, and should settle that then.
It's not that important though is it?
As a free agent wouldn't he be entitled to train wherever he chose, so could come here and train with the squad for the 7 weeks until the window opens and he can be registered?

True. Ain't happening though, imo.

And now Neymar is suing them for €45m, in unpaid bonuses.
