Breaking a rule by replying. Me calling you arrogant and having a high opinion of yourself is not an insult. It's fact and quite plain to see. I've accused you of nothing either. You bring a ridiculous example of a cat and a dog assuming that that relates to a football game that was played tonight. The majority of posters on here appear to be quite pleased and proud of the teams performance tonight. You disagree, which you are entitled to do. However, it's the manner in which you disagree is the point. You are arrogant, that's it really.
The claim of arrogance is both an accusation and an insult because you have made the claim without having debated the point to understand my point of view. The fact of the matter is that I believe I'm right, therefore I must obviously believe that people who contradict that are wrong unless they can demonstrate a reason why I should believe otherwise. That isn't arrogance, it's conviction in your opinion.

I'm not pleased with the team or the result because I think the team is capable of more than it produced in both legs of the tie. It's as simple as that. My opinion is that the tactics in the first leg and in the first half of the second were naive. It was also my opinion that our tactics at the start of the season were naive, but I was called a number of names for having that opinion as well. As I say, I think we are capable of more, but I think we are being held back by the tactics we are employing.

i have read all the pages - the ref was shit for both teams and to be honest if he had been any good he would have gave a pen against us in first half - game over.............

Far from happy with our performance. We completely wasted the first half at 2-0 down. If it would have been to defend well, avoid conceding maybe OK (not at 2-0 down tho), but we were only in it because the ref didnt give them a pen and ruled offside their goal that seemed OK.

One chance in 45 minutes by Nasri, I expected more and a very fast start probably early goal too. That wasnt going to happen at all.

Did we check the games of Barca-Valencia, Sociedad-Barca, Valladolid-Barca lately, 3 losses for them in the league vs teams nowhere near have the firepower we have. How to beat them etc. (I am sure teams watch videos when we lose like Hull doing know probably and making plans to beat us or get a draw...)

Second half was improvement, apart from awful finishing and huge mistakes at the back also by the ref not giving us a clear pen. But if they get theirs we are 1-0 down from early on.

Kompany was great, but hoped in a great performance by Agüero and Nasri, both were pretty mediocre tonight.

After the Wigan loss I wanted a huge reaction, well it was a reaction but far from huge. Now I hope they perform big time vs Hull. If htey dont and we drp points, then we have serious problems.

It was an even contest and the tie was lost in the first leg.

Appalling officials who failed to give both teams a penalty (what use is the twat behind the goals) and disallowed a perfectly good Barca goal. I can understand Zabaletta's disappointment but his sending off was a lack of discipline on his part as the referee will not change his mind.

The Messi goal came about when three of our players fell over each other to clear the ball outside the area and Lescott was left to carry the can when it was instantly fed back into our box.

Yaya spent all night just in front of the back four so we had limited midfield options.

Vinny s performance again showed the folly of leaving him out on Sunday I am still mightly pissed off with the stupid decision to rest players as despite our brave attempt the tie was lost at the Etihad Despite the Lescott howler he didn't have a shocker but we made another error in not finalising the Mangala deal even though he would have been cup-tied tonight, Leaving his signing to the summer will leave him open to join another club and a good world cup will see his fee rise further

it's the niggly free kick after free kick that breaks up play and gives them the ball back that fucks me off... and they fall for it hook, line and sinker.

That echoes my thoughts exactly; these referees are either extremely naive or extremely bent - worryingly, I suspect it's more likely to be the latter.
I also noticed they adopted that trait of rolling in agony when we tackle them and break, in the hope we'll kick it out. Same as Portugal used to and still do. Wankers.

Am I the only one who is most pissed off with the late Alves goal we conceded? I was prepared for being knocked out tonight, but to come away with a creditable 1-1 draw would at least would have been something positive and gained us respect in the football world.

Seems our defence decided to leave the pitch two minutes early however.

Didn't his goal go in off Lescott? Just to round his nights display off.
You're not the only one pissed off with the result, but I think I'm more pissed off that we Disrespected the FA cup for this tonight. Who at the club thought that we had a chance with the Biased refereeing we have seen in Champions league already let alone against Barcelona is beyond me. Corrupt just like Platini. I see PSG never get to play against Quality teams just like the Rags and Arsenal dont, saying that as soon as they come up against a bit of Quality even with refs on their side they go out.

And this is not foul?!?

Yes... for Barca

Even up in the fods and far away behind the goal, Two things were abundantly clear

1. Dzeko was fouled, so how did the free go against him?

2. It was a penalty every day of the week, so bloody obvious.

I genuinely believe the referee was acting to orders.

I don't think I'll be bothering with this tournament again, home or away!
