Barcelona Vs City CL 2nd leg Post Match Thread

We really need to wise up in Europe. We are like country rubes with cheap shoes getting fleeced 5 mins after getting off the bus in the big city.

First off there is zero point bumping people off the ball and conceding fouls and picking up yellow cards. Ok get a bit physical for the first 5 mins and see what the ref is like and then figure out he's a soft twat and wise up.

Red cards. Much as Zabs made me chuckle its effing pointless playing CL games with 10 men. Yes we should have had a pen. So maybe should Barca. Difference? They didn't go medieval on the ref's ass and get a man sent off. Protest sure but up to a point.

Lastly - and this is just my impression - but we seem to play to win the match whereas Barca played to win the tie over two legs. First leg they would have been happy with 0-0 anything else was a bonus. Second leg was even but they were happy it was even. Kompany said we left everything out there. Barca played within themselves. We end up shagged out with a game in 48 hours. Barca played the percentages. We need to be cuter. If we are learning that then fine. If not then this shit will keep happening. As I said just my overriding impression.

Stick to posting selfies ya self serving twat. If I met a twat that looked and acted like you on the street my first thought would be **** ...second possible Rag

Calm down!
Sorry I've seen this guy go about this forum like an obnoxious arsehole long enough, only seems to comment either about his pecks, to call someone out on grammar or call them a rag...seems a twat so I'll call him one

Far from happy with our performance. We completely wasted the first half at 2-0 down. If it would have been to defend well, avoid conceding maybe OK (not at 2-0 down tho), but we were only in it because the ref didnt give them a pen and ruled offside their goal that seemed OK.

One chance in 45 minutes by Nasri, I expected more and a very fast start probably early goal too. That wasnt going to happen at all.

Did we check the games of Barca-Valencia, Sociedad-Barca, Valladolid-Barca lately, 3 losses for them in the league vs teams nowhere near have the firepower we have. How to beat them etc. (I am sure teams watch videos when we lose like Hull doing know probably and making plans to beat us or get a draw...)

Second half was improvement, apart from awful finishing and huge mistakes at the back also by the ref not giving us a clear pen. But if they get theirs we are 1-0 down from early on.

Kompany was great, but hoped in a great performance by Agüero and Nasri, both were pretty mediocre tonight.

After the Wigan loss I wanted a huge reaction, well it was a reaction but far from huge. Now I hope they perform big time vs Hull. If htey dont and we drp points, then we have serious problems.
sadly I have to agree with this with mitigating circumstances for Aguero who clearly wasn't fit and if was the case it was madness to play him with us now fighting to save our season

And so, Oh great football guru would you have chnaged things ?
If I was a football guru I would be employed to manage a team and the expectation would be that I would make the right decisions. I'm not, therefore that expectation isn't there. That said, if I'd chosen to play a weakened team in the FA Cup, which under the circumstances I don't think I would, I'd have pushed Yaya further forward than he was playing, I'd have started with a taller player up front and I'd have looked for any other solution to the Lescott situation. Still, I'm not sure I'd have risked the FA Cup tie for what was, essentially, a lost cause.

Here here, we are playing like a newly promoted side against one of the top 4

Breaking a rule by replying. Me calling you arrogant and having a high opinion of yourself is not an insult. It's fact and quite plain to see. I've accused you of nothing either. You bring a ridiculous example of a cat and a dog assuming that that relates to a football game that was played tonight. The majority of posters on here appear to be quite pleased and proud of the teams performance tonight. You disagree, which you are entitled to do. However, it's the manner in which you disagree is the point. You are arrogant, that's it really.
The claim of arrogance is both an accusation and an insult because you have made the claim without having debated the point to understand my point of view. The fact of the matter is that I believe I'm right, therefore I must obviously believe that people who contradict that are wrong unless they can demonstrate a reason why I should believe otherwise. That isn't arrogance, it's conviction in your opinion.

I'm not pleased with the team or the result because I think the team is capable of more than it produced in both legs of the tie. It's as simple as that. My opinion is that the tactics in the first leg and in the first half of the second were naive. It was also my opinion that our tactics at the start of the season were naive, but I was called a number of names for having that opinion as well. As I say, I think we are capable of more, but I think we are being held back by the tactics we are employing.

That reply I find much more acceptable than your earlier posts. I disagree with you still in regards to the performance tonight. I though City tried to take the game to Barcelona and rightly so.We played with heart and showed no fear of them. In honesty you can't touch Barca can you? They get every decision going. A player will fall, roll about while keeping an eye on the ref and the ref will blow. The referee in my opinion of course, was simply appalling. Whilst he may have been poor all round he was a damn sight more poor towards City! Enough again in my opinion again to put the game beyond us. As far as tactic etc go I'm afraid I've posted on a number of occasions that this forum is full of football managers, who seem to be of the opinion because they think if MP had played this formation and played this player, and didn't wear a hoodie we'd conquer the world! Easy to slate someone, something on hindsight, and the best part is nobody can ever prove you wrong. I'll go with you on that City can and should be better, but that as it stands will have to wait till next season.

And this is not foul?!?

He actually gave them a free kick for that and a minute later Messi scored.
Probably even more blatant favoritism than the clear penalty. Good on Dzeko though for making Pique his woman.

The thing also sad about this was, it was a long ball pass which Dzeko brought down beautifully with great control with this twat all over him, then the Ref topped it off with a foul against dzeko.
