Barcelona Vs Rags Official Match Topic

Credit to Barca but i do think their performance is being branded about a little OTT.

It doesn't take a football genius to work out that playing Giggs, Carrick and Park in central midfield against Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Messi is not going to get you far.

Fergie failed big time again in Europe tactically. Shocking team selection and shocking set up. I'm not scared of Barca i will tell you that.

TBH it was a little alike to watching a replay of the Semi between ourselves and scum at Wembley.

Only in this case they came on strong for only the first 10 minutes then Barca pushed up and played them off the park.

This is the game that Mancini is working towards and the team are settling into, just a few new signings and we will be a match for Barca after 12 months, forget Utd that's so last decade.

I for one am glad they got stuffed, already had one rag telling me
they might "allow" us to win the Carling Cup next season.

Also that they will "win the treble" the mexican ladyboy will
win the golden boot, blah blah blah.

Personally, I think they'll win f*%kall next season.

Barca best team in the world no doubt. Deserved it completely. But people on here having a laugh. United have had a very successful season, they won the title and got to the CL final.
If we were in their position next season I'd be only too delighted.

And look at who's lifting the cup, a nice touch.

No-one remembers runners-up, they won as many trophies as us this year.

They are second best team in Europe. Nobody remembers the winners never mind the losers of the Carling Cup/FA Cup/Europa etc. after a season. That's where the competitions have fallen in the English football.
But a CL final. Runners up? What I mean is it'd be something we'd be pretty happy with next season.

We won the FA Cup, big deal. It's about quality rather than quantity in this case. There isn't a person here who wouldn't swap our position for theirs. If they do, they're lying or completely delusional.

If that was our season next season I'd be bloody happy with it. They were never going to beat Barca, and they knew it. Best team in the world by far, but there's no shame in coming 2nd to a team like them.
And I'd take that result next season in the morning.

Hmmmm, not finished reading the thread yet but you stink of rag to me. Either
that or you are a very low self esteem blue.

I love Barca.

I think there's something wrong with me, it made me feel uncomfortable when I first saw it and it still does now. I don't know if it's a twinge of sympathy, not for the rags, but for a man always seen as strong and composed to look so weak, for want of a better word.

It's the look of a man who knows that no matter who he buys, Guardiola has him sussed.

I bet he instinctually fears Guardiola.

Laughing my cock off that he got his comeuppance.

He knew that it's his last chance when he still alive but he failed miserably.

Not much I can say after reading this thread but congrats to City for winning the Champions League.

Seriously though the only tactical mistake I thought Fergie made was starting Hernandez instead of Nani. Not much use for a poacher center forward the way the game unfolded, and it wasn't exactly a surprise it unfolded that way. To stay on the pitch with Barca you need a proper set of midfield destroyers and United don't have one in their entire squad. I'd put this Barca team up against Figo and Zidane's RM, Sacchi's Milan and Cruyff's Ajax. No offense to anyone but to compare this game with the FA Cup Semi Final flatters both City and United.

The failure to man mark Messi was ultimately fatal. A terrible error that should have been obvious.
