Not much I can say after reading this thread but congrats to City for winning the Champions League.

Seriously though the only tactical mistake I thought Fergie made was starting Hernandez instead of Nani. Not much use for a poacher center forward the way the game unfolded, and it wasn't exactly a surprise it unfolded that way. To stay on the pitch with Barca you need a proper set of midfield destroyers and United don't have one in their entire squad. I'd put this Barca team up against Figo and Zidane's RM, Sacchi's Milan and Cruyff's Ajax. No offense to anyone but to compare this game with the FA Cup Semi Final flatters both City and United.

The failure to man mark Messi was ultimately fatal. A terrible error that should have been obvious.

No arguments here but I doubt we have the horses in midfield to do this. They could have fielded 14 players in midfield and would have still been overrun.

I think last night rammed home what a major rebuilding job they have on their hands,to win that competition and/or retain the premiership,they need to replace at least four in that team,with others soon to follow given their age,this could well be the beginning of the end.....

Some of the commentry on Sky was hilarious. Going on about Utd being gracious as ever in defeat (clearly forgotton about our semi final win already) , Utd fans staying after the final whistle to applaud Barcelona (2 mins later camera showed Utd end empty), going on about Barcelona's diving in the semi and how Utd wouldnt do that.

Then lastly Rio saying although Barca deserved it, Utd had opportunities and could have won (only counted 1 on target 1 off target shots myself). Hernandez was offside more than Benjani.

Has ferguson mentioned thier penatly for hand ball yet when Giggs appealed but of course not mentioned the similar one for Barcelona in the 1st half?

I love Barca.

I think that just shows the man's passion for the game, and why they've been so successful, and probably why that shit team won the Prem this season.

Watching that last night, I don't think our strongest 11 would have made it look so easy for Barca. I'd love to see a competitive match between the two sides actually, with us in the form we were in the last few games of the season. Not saying we would win, but I think we wouldn't get beat quite so easily as united were last night.
