Can't pass, can't run, can't tackle, can block shots ok, isn't intelligent, tracks back too slow.

But that's ok because he's a "model pro"

Wake up people FFS.

Last night he was absolutely terrible, in fact, his performance was unacceptable. I tried to count his passes but it's hard when the games flowing but I counted 23 passes, 13 of which he gave away!
Seeing as he lost 10 passes the whole game. You must have been counting replays.

In the first half he was running around, SLOWLY, after the ball and Lpool were just passing it around him at ease. If he'd held his ground, in the defensive/holding midfield area, instead of pointlessly running after the ball he would have been stood where the ball dropped for Carroll for their first goal. Easy block, still 0-0, City settle, the game's different...

Not the only one last night, but woeful!
Yes, you are absolutely right. He should have stood still in the middle a predict that a ball will be shot, blocked by Komps, then land at the feet of a striker for a one timer. Seeing as he has the capacity to see into the future. What a load of shit.

We once had a cracking pair of centre midfielders called Barry & Milner.

What has gone on with them?

They have stepped up a level and been found out!

If they stayed at Villa I'm sure they'd be our first choice CM & both would be going down as legends.

On the other hand, I can totally understand why they moved.

For me the difference is that at Villa you play very direct, you have a lot of pace up front and a lot of time your central midfield is bypassed completely. This suits both Barry and Milner because neither are overly great on the ball. At City we play a more slow and measured approach where possession in the middle of the park is key. Our play suits the likes of Silva who casts a spell on the football, it does not suit the likes of Barry and Milner who get shown up for being technically inferior.

Ha! Someone tried to blame Tevez for the first goal. Ridiculous indeed.
The way I saw it is that, Tevez tried to get hold of the ball because it seemed the defenders having had a hard time getting the ball out of Man City own half. But Meireles got there first, and kicked and perhaps hurt his hamstring in the process. The rest was history.
This is not an opinion. It is a fact. There is no "how I saw it" there is just how it happened. Milner dumbly, chipped the ball into the middle of our half instead of booting out (albeit no one seems to remember or say shit about that) then Dzeko gets beat to the ball by a red. The ball pops in the air towards Tevez, who chest control was poor and let the ball pop forward and Carrol lunged in and knocked it away from him. Factuallt speaking here - Tevez had the ball couldn't control it and showed too much and lost it. In short, TEVEZ LOST THE BALL. Clearly your bias has given you a poor recreation of the facts. Check it, and come back to apologize. :)

Because of this trivial thing, you blame Tevez? Ridiculous.
I did not blame Tevez, the goal was all Carroll. But Tevez did lose possession of the ball. That is just a fact. Not a blame.
And you said Silva would have change the game if he started. Then tell me one thing:

When was Silva during the Chelsea game? Was he so good that he shouldn't be taking the blame of the loss of that game?
Can you point me to where I stated Silva would have changed the game if he started? I don't recall making any such claim. I am not God, and don't know what SIlva would have done. I can only "accurately" recite what actually happened.

Talk about not being biased yourself![/quote]
I am assuming my bias here is stating that "Tevez lost the ball", which he did. And that "Silva would have changed the game" which I don't remember ever saying. But even if someone made that claim, it would be an opinion on what they THINK will happen, as opposed to a claim of what actually happened. The bias I rail against are those that selectively remember the facts.

-- Tue Apr 12, 2011 3:15 am --

Knew I would come on here this morning and find that one of Barrys mates had dug out meaningless statistics showing that Barry is the best midfielder in Europe!

My bad. I guess we should have relied on your biased memory instead.

Re: BARRY!

I honestly never want to see Barry play for City again, utterly, utterly useless.

Jogs (at less than walking speed) around the centre circle' doesn't tackle, doesn't run, can't seem to pass, doesn't shoot... he is a libility to our team.

Milner on the other hand needs a run in the middle to get his touch sharper and he will then be a decent squad player to have; great engine, inteligent runs, will track his runner and put a tackle in.

But Barry... I'd rather have Bosvelt.

I'd agree with all that.

Maybe a middle three of Milner, Toure & De Jong would have the right balance for you?

Milner and Barry wouldnt get anywhere near my starting XI this season and next season I wouldnt have them at the club at all. Middle should be NDJ, Yaya and Silva!
