Bars in Northern Quarter or Ancoats before game for this Saturday?

The only dedicated sports bars in town now are:

Directors Box, which I really like and has a good choice of beers but is very small so lucky to be able to book a table if there is a major event on.

The Box, on Deansgate, is huge - but you always need to book, or you'll just keep getting moved along when people who have booked the table you're sat at turn up. I recall having to move tables 3 times in the first half of the Arsenal v Bournemouth game last season, when I was just waiting for my mates to turn up.

And the Sports Bar in the Basement of Bierkeller in Printworks is decent, but can't remember if you have to book in there. Not been for a while.

To answer the OP's question - the nearest of those ^^ to NQ is going to be Bierkeller in the Printworks!

We watched the Palace match when Haaland scored the late penalty in the upstairs bar in the Sawyers on Deansgate
 
Manchester will be City on Saturday.

The NQ has every type of bar and restaurant.

Likewise New Islington on the waterfront.

They all must love CITYs influence on their economies.
 
Was planning on the Waldorf myself around 5ish on Saturday!! Will it be crawling with vermin?
 
Pie and Ale and Crown and Anchor, are big City pubs in NQ, with great atmospheres. Crown and Kettle too.

Pie and Ale have a lot of screens for sport, a lot of seatings inside outside and upstairs, it’s a proper NQ place. It was one of the main places in town that had to sell tickets for the CL final, and I believe they sold fast.

The NQ is very Blue these days. I was there Monday afternoon when the Rags were at home. None of them were around.
