Baseless speculation Iheanacho/Bony

It's a difficult one. His goals ratio was decent at Swansea and he was one of those strikers in a mid table team that you thought could possibly step up to the next level. I didn't have any issue when we signed him, I thought he'd give us something different.

It just hasn't worked though, and as a consequence we have lost out on the quality that Kelechi brings by trying to give Bony game time that he needs, but doesn't deserve.

I'd pull the trigger and move him on this summer.

A fair and reasoned post.

From memory his signing wasn't greeted with unfettered excitement, more of a he might be okay shrug of the shoulders type of thing, how he gets picked is becoming quite indefensible really

To play devils advocate:

I think it's clear he is a target man however we don't play in a way that requires one so we're all expecting him to play like an Aguero or a Tevez which he clearly can't.

So I've no idea why we bought him if Pellegrini was never going to utilize him in the best way.

Feel sorry for the guy as his confidence is clearly shot yet he's proven that in a team that utilizes him correctly he can be lethal.

Thought it was a completely ridiculous signing at the time especially as from what I remember he went to the ACON straight after he joined. Always thought someone like Defoe would have done a decent job here.

Yep, great point, he went straight to ACON and came back tired as a rented mule, thus never getting off the ground properly with us. A bad piece of business that has become worse as we've insisted on playing him.

Granted he has been inept, but imagine being Bony and trying to score when Navas is your main source of delivery

We actually whipped a few really nice crosses into the box today and Bony just stood there hoping one would hit his head instead of attacking the ball. I just saw Andy Carroll's hat trick on MOTD and that is what I wish Bony would do for us. Movement, strength, winning headers. He's just useless.

He still puts some decent deliveries in. I wouldn't expect Bony to make up 5 yards if the ball were sat unchallenged on the goal line though.

Should have had a couple of tap-ins today. When he first came i saw some positives in his play, but he's just got worse and worse. I can't wait for him to go now, Kelechi should have played twice as many games as he has this season.
