Battle of the Bands Final - Beatles v Rolling Stones 217

Re: Battle of the Bands - AC/DC v The Stone Roses page 98

Two very different genre's - but ACDC for me (especially the Bon Scott era).

If you like a decent power/rock guitar solo:

Ok lets go song for song. Hit me with your best stone roses tracks and I'll beat it.

You've got me Chungo those AC/DC lads rock.

Yorkshire style flat cap wearing Aussies over the Roses. Wow. I still love flared jeans or loose fit, check my location. HM.

Coward

Coward? What the fuck?

Look I'm going to think nearly every Roses song pisses on anything ACDC could ever produce. You will think the complete opposite.

One thing though is you will have to go a long way to persuade me that a bloke with school boy shorts and flat cap could ever be a rival to Brown, Mani, Reni and Squire.

So it's all about image then?

AC/DC V Stone Roses is easy they both are the best as they are totally different genders of music.

Back to my teenage years a proper like for like battle of the bands would have been Deep Purple v Led Zeppelin or Yes v Genesis.

Both of those would have had friends not talking to each other out of principle.

Now that I'm fat balding 50+, I love all of them (but not that pop Genesis though)
But back when I was 14 it was Deep Purple all day long for me over Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page you can stick that double neck guitar up your arse) and Yes over Genesis, (I knew Rick Wakeman would end up a blue)

BT I wouldn't say it's all about image at but Roses tracks still have me humming them whenever I hear one. Love them. Obviously biased.

But being a teenager given the choice between dressing like a fucked up, grown up yorkshire farmer wearing a primary school outfit or lads who dressed in flares and cool t-shirts. Yes I guess the image played a part.

Nah I love the stone roses but you've gotta get your head out your arse and see that on the world wide stage AC/DC are the bigger more successful band and should progress to the next round of this competition.

Got no time for acdc, and really couldn't give two fucks about the roses, but I'll vote for the Roses just because I knew Mani when we were kids.
