Re: Battle of the Bands - The Clash v Oasis page 25
Guns of Brixton vs Champagne Super Nova????? No fucking contest.
"Average musicians, middle-class tossers pretending to be 'street' on a major record label", sure you're not talking about those silly twats in Oasis?
Clash might have made some money, but they're about something. Unlike those idiots singing Wonderwall. "What's the story, morning glory?", blegh! Pap for simpletons.

Clash - first album OK, Give 'em enough - average, London Calling - A f*ckin double album, with a 'hidden' track.... Do me a favour; overblown self-indulgent shit padding around a couple of good tracks.
Oasis - Best debut album ever. I need say no more.
If you piled all the Clash's 'great' songs onto one album, it wouldn't last much longer than 10 minutes, including the gaps between songs.
BTW - I didn't rate the Clash. Average musicians, middle-class tossers pretending to be 'street' on a major record label.
Irrelevant, White riot alone is better than anything oasis have ever done. oasis have never made a track that could equall borstal breakout, cranked up really high, o bondage up yours, new rose, nasty nasty, orgasm addict etc. I could go on for ever here. I know they aren't clash songs but, the point is, they haven't done anything that can equal the stuff that came out in the 70's. I guess not being in Manc when they were out might effect my judjement but, I couldn't even name 5 of their songs. As for the bloke that said dominated a decade, you've got to get out more mate, maybe in England. They could walk down any steet here without being recognised. They were the begining of the pussyfication of music.
