Re: Battle of the Bands - The Clash v Oasis page 25

CLASH.Because 'Straight to Hell' and 'White Man at the Hammersmith Palais', it's the Clash, the Beatles association ruined it for me.

The one contest I won't enter. Rock the Casbah is better than everything Oasis have ever done, though.

It's not even better than anything Steps have done tbh.

One band had a good album

the other band dominated a whole decade ...
So you're voting for The Clash now?

considering The Clash have never had a UK number 1 album ... NO !

How the fuck do you manage to get dressed in the morning?
This poll is based on songwriting, ability and musical influence.
I presume you will be voting for Take That in the final,if chart success is your criteria of talent.
It pains me to think that outsiders may see those bellends from Burnage triumph here - it is simply embarrassing.
Unbelievable Jeff.

No matter which one you prefer, both are/were very good bands with some fantastic tracks, to base any arguement on the grounds that one is shit, and the other one isn't is an act of sheer folly, both deserve credit for what they put out there.

Me, I prefer Oasis.

Two top bands. How come Oasis weren't paired with the Bee Gees? Who comes up with the criteria? I can't see Oasis winning this one because too many people like to be with what they think is the 'in' crowd hating Oasis because that's apparently the cool thing to do.

I like The Clash. "White Man In The Hammersmith Palais" "Magnificent Seven" and "Version Pardner (Dub version of "Junco Partner")", amongst dozens of others, are fantastic tracks. But Oasis are one of my top bands ever. They provided me with great music throughout my teens and twenties. The soundtrack to my life!

Yes both WTSMG? and Be Here Now were radio sing along albums for the middle class family demographic. But I fucking love the rest of what Oasis did outside those two albums (and i do like some parts of those two albums). There are countless Oasis tracks amongst my favourite ever songs. Dozens of them are truly briliant!

For me Oasis!

Of course Oasis will win this one, because all the young kids love them, because they are blues from Burnage, and most of them don't know who The Clash were.
I can see a strong ABO group forming if this happens.
And I shall be one of them.
White riot - a riot of my own.
