Bayern Munich vs. City Post-Match Discussion Thread

The pressing by our team especially in the second half was great.
Nasri worked hard and was impressive.
Milner worked hard and was impressive.
Fernandinho, Navas, Negredo, Boyata, Kompany (really impressive) were all very good.
I am very, very excited about this season.

Can someone please fill me in on what is going on with Aguero?
Knee injury but nothing official has been said

However he's been with the squad all Summer so I'm hoping it's not serious

We can do without him.

We have 2 problems: Getting Nasty back

Pellegrini working out how to get the most out of our forwards. All gifted

Well done Cedric Boyata :)
Played against one of the best teams in the world and did not look out of place one single bit (except for right at the start, which is understandable).

Great first start, and good on Pellegrini for giving him a valuable experience.

Yes first 10 mins, Bayern came at us and he looked nervy but he settled, looked better than Garcia imo.

I'm not enjoying this BT Sports - I don't subscribe to TV channels to have them praise City and say good things about us. I'm switching back to Sky - I'm comfortable with the constant slagging us off and the cheap jibes.

*falls off seat laughing* I am sooooo pleased that I have BT Sports, and nothing extra to pay because I am a BT Broadband & BT Vision subscriber.

Let's hear what VK has to say now.

My Dad rang me after the game and said he enjoyed the commentry and not hearing the words Manchester United once.

Pellegrni got his tactics spot on. Put a defensive side out first half. Let them have possession. Attack second half when they are tired. This guy knows his onions. It would have worked only for German referee and linesmen. A first team in a competitive game would see us winners.I

Lots of positives from that game. Jesus, Pellegrini has got a right job on
his hands picking the best eleven from this talented squad. On the basis
of these friendlies, I'd start this team against Newcastle.

Hart

Richards Kompany Lescott Clichy

Fernandinho Y. Toure

Navas Nasri Jovetic

Dzeko

Silva has to start.

I have to say i think Boyata did very well, he just need couple of games and he will settle with confidence, i have a feeling he could be better than lescott

Yes Silva for Nasri imo.

Pellers: 'my team'. Love that. Takes ownership and responsibility.

Pre-season is for fitness and experimenting, particularly experimenting for Pelle as he is new to the squad and there are significant numbers of new players in the squad.

I have no worries. We had an excellent squad, we've now got a superb manager, we've bought well, and we are going to be some team to beat in the PL, CL, FA Cup and League Cup.

No worries? Just wish we had someone who could kill with a dead ball.

At least all the subs came on when they were told. That was an improvement on last time.

Yes a great interview.
Can't wait until it's posted and I can watch. :)
That won't be posted on the OS; it wasn't an MCFC TV interview.
Might get put on the BTSport site in a bit though

Positives:

Navas has to be in out first XI.

Fernadinho and Yaya in midfield looks controlled.

Negredo looks a handful.

Defence even with Boyata looked very good.

Negatives:

Without Silva we lack true incision upfront.

Barry is not good enough for this level.

Zabaleta needs to work on his postioning when facing rapid and tricky wingers like Ribery.

Possession could be better, but I think if we add Silva to the duo of Yaya and Fernadinho we will get that.

I think a draw would of refelected a more fair result, Bayern had more of the ball, but I thought tactically we were very good.

Disappointed we lost, but we lost to the European Champions in their own back yard whilst having inferior fitness and game time, and lost to a dubious penalty.

If we can get more bodies forward in attack and with the inclusion of Silva we should be going places, hopefully.
