Some of the comments on here are a joke.
We were three minutes from getting a very good result.
Get behind your team and stop fucking moaning.

a breath of fresh air ,great comments , lets put the result into persperctive , we lost in the last minute to a side with 6 world cup winners in the team , our only mistake was we gave them too much respect , the team should play with more belief , but it will come , Frustrating nights like this , will make lifting the champs league trophy so much sweeter.
Complacent comment.
You could have made a similar comment against Madrid two seasons ago.
We have learnt nothing.

The problem is the fans on Sunday will still applaud Nasri as he goes to take a corner ,which to him makes it ok to not give a shit. Yaya will still get applause for a simple pass out to the wing, they won't get the message until they feel a bit of wrath towards them.
Good idea. Let's routinely start getting on the players' backs. That'll do the trick

Or an alternate perspective, we lost to a team with arguably 5 starters missing compared to 1 (Fernando) unavailable for us (maybe Jovetic would have started but I doubt it). No Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Thiago and Badstuber. Robben just back from training, on bench like Aguero. So they missed their main two creative outlets in the starting XI. Seriously weakened yet if not for Joe Hart having his best game in 2 years we'd have probably been 3-0 or so down within half an hour. We looked miles off them, technically and tactically. 1-0 or 6-0, we were never ever winning tonight because we were creatively barren and outplayed. Our best chances were a couple of counter attacks... a bit like teams such as Villa and Norwich against City.

Total over reaction on here for me

We supposed to carve open the best/2nd best team on the planet away from home?

90 mins gone we get a pen (for once) and/or Serg puts that way (which he often does) and we'd all be hailing a professional European away perf

But no, a deflected shot in added time and we're a bag if shite instead. I don't get it

Well OK not the end of the world but...yeah it's always a but with the CL...but there is still that feeling we could have done more. Been just a bit more positive. At some point we have to start believing that we belong in this competition and acting as if we do. We should have got something out of this game tonight and very disappointed we didn't.

Roma is going to be a barrel of fucking laughs...

Gutting that we got so close to a point but in reality we were outplayed against an under strength bayern team.
Our football is far too pedestrian, we create little and have a long way to go to.compete with the top teams.
We ain't going to win it. I see little change from previous years so would rather go out early than have it Fuck up our league chances

Extremely disappointed.

Bayern aren't that great and definitely won't win the tournament on that showing. We were way below par and yet they still huffed and puffed their way to a stuffy 1-0 win.

What we are still doing wrong is going into these Cl games v 'bigger' sides and showing far to much respect, being far to submissive, conceding far to much territory and trying to be something we're not.

As a team we just don't impose ourselves and we're still giving off a vibe that we're somewhat 'in awe' of the opposition and aren't actually allowed to have a proper go at them.

Until we grow some hair on our bollocks it simply won't change.

Play wise Yaya was a fucking liability. The kid clearly isn't 'fit' and clearly has zero defensive understanding at this level. This left Fernandino exposed to fuck for the whole time. The amount of work he has to get through is ridiculous.

Sagna was also incredibly poor. There were times when he looked so one footed he looked like he'd been on the piss before kick off.

I thought Joe Hart had his finest game in a city shirt since Dortmund at home 2 seasons back. Made some cracking saves and looked excellent.

The rest were very 'blah' imo. Not one of them played as we know they can.

Nailed on penalty on Silva (Bentaia) btw. Absolutely diabolical (bent?) decision by a ref who was right there.
Very good summary.

There is still that lingering feeling that we don't have the overall mental strength to advance in this competition. I think that one quality that Zab brings to the team is mental toughness, and his passion and hardness was missing tonight. I get the feeling that Zab's hardness flows through to the team when he is out there. Unfortunately Sagna doesn't possess the same level of hardness.

We obviously missed Fernando, and I would be inclined to drop Yaya and play Fernando and Fernandinho in the next round. With Fernando you know that you are going to get tough tackling and shutting down of the opposition. We need that and Yaya can't do it.

At this level of football mental strength is essential. Unfortunately some of our players go to water in this crucible.

Complements to Joe, Edin, Merlin and Fernandinho. They gave it all. Vinny and Demichelis were under siege and did the best they could.

I think enough has been said about Yaya. If he had pride in the shirt he would not be laughing with Pep after the game. That sends a very poor message that he doesn't care.
