I've washed my hands of this competition, we don't stand a chance of realistically winning it with corrupt refs like these. Been restricted to 21 players was a joke in itself. I'd prefer just to concentrate on retaining our title as at least then we'll stand a chance of getting a relatively easy group (New changes being automatically being seeded for Pot 1) compared to the 3 successive group of deaths we've been lumped with in as many years.

Stonewall penalty near the end...Dzeko's yellow card was a complete joke etc etc. Seriously, fuck this competition. Bent as fuck.

Also I know that we play lucid free flowing football and don't stick to a rigid formation but the 442 is shit. It was shit when United used to play it and it's still shit now. When we don't have the ball you can see us fall in to two flat banks of four. It's just shit. We don't even have players that suit the formation yet we persist with it? Surely there is a formation that wouldn't force Silva to play as an out and out striker tonight?

But winning the first game a draw will do for them in this situation !

gervinho and maicon scored three of roma's goals , and they are next to useless , if we dont take 6 points off roma , we simply dont deserve anything in the champs league , just annoying we will probably finish 2nd in the group and platini will have his balls in the microwave already for the knockout stages draw.

Only read the first and this page, and most of it is utter bollocks imho. I thought we played very well in large parts of the game, Hart had a great game, but we had decent chances, and the penalty on Silva was nailed on, but every tackle we make is now a foul, and every foul we concede is a tackle, the bias against us in this competition is worse than a joke.

I thought our players played very well, couldn't single out anyone who played poorly, manager got the team spot on, and the subs were about right (might have brought on Kolorov 10 minutes earlier perhaps).

I don't know what some people expect. They have no perspective at all. Can you get much harder than Bayern away?

Disappointed to lose like that, but although we were up against it for most of the game, should we really expect anything else?

Yes we should expect a couple of midfielders to bust a gut to impact a game of that magnitude. They didn't.

The thing with Dortmund though is that they've been in this competition so many times that they just don't give a shit who they come up against. They have no respect for no one and will play to their strengths. Meanwhile, at our end... most of our fans seem to fawn over the opposition more than our own side. Our home record speaks for itself, when teams come to us we dictate what tempo the game will be played at, but when Barcelona came knocking last year we changed everything and didn't play the football that we do week in week out.

Personally, I'd have liked to see both Dzeko and Aguero on the field tonight, regardless of our injury problems. This whole "Oh, but Bayern are the best team in the world" attitude is cringe worthy, we can also be a very dangerous side going forward if we put some trust in our players. Mancini made the same errors and it got to a point where he made such a ludicrous sub that he had an argument with players on the touchline. I'd take Aguero/Dzeko over Muller and Lewandowski any day.

Fernandinho was amazing. Our back four were pretty good. Yaya and Nasri were underwhelming. Tough match against a top side. We'll get them at home.

Dzeko should have stayed on, he's huge defensively in the situations like the one where we conceded.

Oh and I forgot Hart was MOTM on our side easily. One of his best performances I've seen.

Have to disagree. How many times did we cut them open to create excellent scoring chances? Look at how they panicked when we did press them. The ref was OK tonight. Yes he should have given us a pen but if he was biased he had opportunities to give Bayern more than one. We need to look at how we approach these games in terms of attitude and mentality. Fernandinho had it spot on. Made big tackles and drove forward several times. Edin battled well holding the ball up and winning clever free kicks heck I even applauded him twice for it. But collectively we just don't appear to be convinced that we can win or at least draw these games and that after 3 seasons is the disappointment.
