BBC licence fee

It's perfectly simple, those who watch the BBC and like it's content should pay for it. If the BBC chooses to alienate a large section of it's audience that should and will come with a cost as those people stop supporting the license fee. A subscription model or the BBC disappearing completely will not bother me in the slightest because I never watch it these days, so see absolutely no reason why I should pay for it. This is becoming more and more the mainstream view amongst Tory voters, so I could see this happening in the not too distant future.
I’ve not read the whole thread so maybe I’ve missed it but how have the BBC chosen to alienate a large section of their audience? Has this been a deliberate policy decision that they have trumpeted?

It's the view amongst Brexity, Daily Mail, anti-woke, expert-threatened types rather than "Tory voters", and it comes from the fact they have ( or had) intelligent analysts who called out their lies occasionally.

I'm a centrist who isn't wed to any party and I won't watch BBC news because it bends over backwards to appear by giving two sides to every story relating to the government even when only one side is sensible. That's because Patel and the likes are holding the sword of damocles over it to try to turn in into their version of Russia Today because they know they are governing on a web of lies and spin aimed downmarket.
Well said DD. The BBC is a world renowned institution for true broadcasting - hence the world service and it’s many foreign language services. The fact that some people do not watch/listen to it is small minded in the extreme. I see on here many, many comments on BBC programmes (MOTD etc) even if they are not liked people still watch them. BBBC radio is still very, very popular as is local TV, enough comments on here about Silly Sally. Regards funding, if the government still wants the foreign services then they should provide the money.

If you want convincing on the BBC model then go to the US and watch their ‘unbiased’ version of reporting. This is what will happen if you want to go down this path.

No surprise that Dorries highlighted it today to cover up for Liar Johnson.

You are not free to opt out, when I moved into my new house it took them 1 week to send me an enforcement letter for if I didn't soon buy a license. That letter also said that if I can't prove that I am not using my TV and/or don't pay then they'll start legal action.

How many opt-outs include a potential visit from TV licensing to search your property to ensure you do not have the capability of watching TV?
Wrong.
Stop posting bollocks.
The law is clear.
It is not up to you to prove you are not watching live tv.
TV licensing cannot enter property without a warrant and a police officer in attendance and even then unless someone’s stupid enough to be actually watching live tv without a licence when they call no offence is committed owning a tv without a licence.

Partitioning people into groups isn’t healthy like that. I know Daily Mail readers who vote Labour and voted remain. I also just learned about this “woke” term and I don’t know anyone who thinks being woke is good, seems to be students mostly.

I personally don’t want to pay the fuckers because of their Utd bias but I think the rest of the BBC is fine, then again I’m not that political and certainly not that arsed about politics parties. Their shows are pretty good too, just started the Tourist.

It knocks me sick I’m spending £120 a year + for them to wank off the Rags at every opportunity.

Exactly. Burden of proof always rests on the prosecuting party.

Bloody hell id love to see your posts on the political forum if you WERE into the subject! Haha!

yeah cos Sky love City for their £400 per year fee.

I do wish the beeb haters would just stop paying and fuckoff to Sky or cable or GB News whatever there is that is cheaper. Sick of their fkin moaning that everyone else shouldnt enjoy it. Just go watch something else. fkin dictator hitlers. Stop watching and then you'll stop moaning about fkin £120 per year (Compared with power charges being hikled by £2000k per year... nah £120 its enormous, cant afford it (as well as Sky)

I think it’s more the paying for it whilst not watching that is the general bone of contention.
That’s the impression I get anyway. It doesn’t affect me personally as I don’t live in the U.K. anymore.
