I don't like Kompany. I think he's an arrogant twat who puts his country before the club who pays his wages. We've had some other talented players who I feel the same way about and don't regard as "great". Great players are the ones who respect our club and its fans. I don't think he does.

That's my opinion and you're free to disagree with it. But you aren't going to change it.
Always worth having a discussion on a forum with someone who is adamant they won't change their view. Now that is arrogant.
I went last night and did not get a ticket. I witnessed the Belgians in the pub before the game and it was obvious most had never been to a game before. This can not be right. If the tickets were from our Captain, it is the person who authorised the ticket distribution that is at fault, not solely the responsibility of Kompany.
For years I have gone on about the lack of transparency in the loyalty points system. So much so I gave up on platinum and the cup schemes. Now so many others feel the same it is time to put pressure on the club to get it sorted.
And don't get me started on the points whores...

Well for a start, the club had to reduce the tickets to half price in order to sell them. You or I have no idea whether we would have sold out based on the traditional support. Perhaps if they hadn't reduced the price the demand would have been less?

At the end of the day Kompany has been a tremendous servant to the club and he wanted to help out 200 of his fellow belgian fans to secure tickets, would you rather the club pissed off a player and said no. I think it's a tragedy that 200 belgian fans who could further spread the good name of the club have had their experience tainted by a small mindedness group of City fans.

Away ticket allocations have very rarely been 100% fair particularly when demand outstrips supply. The points system is clearly not perfect but it's the best system I can think of. Well done to Vinny for promoting our club to a large group of belgian supporters I say.

whats that based on ? surely with reduced tickets swell that should mean more city fans able to get to one of the biggest games of the year. i couldn't give a shit about kompany if it means blues can't go anymore. a tragedy that 200 'belguim' fans couldn't spread the name of our club ? who cares about that. what do you say to all the city fans that wanted to go, but couldn't - sorry lads no more tickets left, even though you have enough points and normally you'd be able to go, we need to spread a message so a bunch of people who aren't even city fans get your ticket !!

the points system means nothing if people with no points get a load of tickets and yea well done vinny, why not give even more tickets to tourists for lets say united away........ long standing city fans go watch it in the pub.

Apparently next season we'll be shipping cushions down to put on the seats in the corporate away sections.

Edit: everyone was lovely in the shop today x

Edit2: I think there are loads of good points but perhaps a change of thread title..?

Posted this in another thread, but bears repeating here.

You can't win on this forum. You have people moaning about 'points whores' on the one hand, then whingeing about 'day trippers' like the Belgians on the other. Given Arsenal was my first away this season (as a former ST-holder exiled in London I get to 2-3 away a season and a handful of home games through whatever means I can) I probably fall into the latter camp and therefore probably shouldn't have been there either in your book, even as a Blue who's been going to games for over 20 years. Apologies.

I accept the situation for what it is - the better the club do, the harder tickets are to come by and the cannier I have to be to get them given I'll never have the points (and nor will any of my long-time ST-holding family). I'm fortunate to have music industry/corporate contacts for Cup finals/semi finals so don't tend to miss out on them. I defy anyone to reach their 30s and not know someone who knows someone for this sort of stuff. In the meantime, after being down here for work for 5 years I finally gave in and bought a season ticket for my local Championship team this year. £300 and a free one for my kid. Can't argue with that if you love football. They remind me of how crap City were when I had my first ST in 1996/7, which is fun in itself.

Anyway, why don't the moaners write a joint letter to the club outlining their criteria for who should and shouldn't attend away games? Make sure you add mine in - that the ones who headbutt away stewards (saw with my own eyes at Arsenal) aren't allowed in, nor are the ones whose attitudes and tactical knowledge seem stuck in the days of Chesterfield and Sheffield Wednesday away (back when away tickets were so easy to come by they went on general sale to fans like me). Not a popular opinion but I'm starting to wonder if the level the club operates at on and off the pitch has outgrown the comprehension of a section of our away support in any case.

No fan has a divine right to go to any football match. It's an absolute disgrace that anyone who doesn't fit the outdated profile of an away City fan - Shameless accent/dress code, pissed up, hot boxing the toilets at halftime (feel sorry for those who bring kids away), moaning about every misplaced pass and tactical change they don't understand, chanting "one banana, two banana, three banana, four" during the 'City win, United lose' chant - is getting stick at games.

Good luck to anyone trying to wing it into City games like me - we're coming for your ticket...

Fucking foreigners coming in her taking our jobs, our women and now our football teams. Its bad enough they make up most of the team and now they want to sit in our end and support us aswell?

Get a grip lads, Citys a global club, we have a global club, and fans worldwide.Yes its annoying that a large group of internationals fan got to go and some more seasoned local fans didnt but thats not really anyones fault. As an Irishman i hope i wont find this kind of abuse next time I get over for an away game.

But are they really City fans or Kompany and KDB fanboys who will fcuk off when those players eventually depart the club?
With them wearing half and half scarves I think we all know the answer.

Edit: I didn't read all the thread but now I have and if true it's shame on the club and Kompany too.

Seems to me that it was the official Belgium supporters club, by the looks of their Facebook page they got 195 tickets. So its nothing to do with Vincent Kompany, they got their tickets directly from city. https://www.facebook.com/BlueMoonBelgie/posts/1022328754491750

And people dispute that the club are shitting on the core support.

Our biggest game of the season, and 195 of the tickets from a small away allocation with a large points criteria are siphoned off to 195 plastics/bandwagon fans from another country who didn't give a shit about us prior to our recent success. Lovely stuff. Wonder how many more went to corporate and the like, the derby and Seville were shocking in that respect.

The club does not give a shit about the core support. Fact.

Your colours don't even matter, it's the colour of your money that counts.

It's the reason we were surrounded by dozens upon dozens of Borussia fans the other week in the East Stand, openly celebrating around us as Borussia scored.

The club does not give a shit.

Just wants to maximise the money though the tills.

In a hypothetical cup tie now, the club will price it according to how much they can make. They'd sooner have a 40k turnout full of plastics and away fans in the home end with a match day income of £2m, than a 54k sellout of blues with a match day income of £1.9m, I firmly believe that.

That's the way the club suits are running us now.

That the club no longer cares about the fans' wants and needs is a recurring theme with you. Would you care to point me to a time in the last forty years when it did? I'm all ears.

my only real gripe with tis is the tickets that don't no go to normal fans mean that they sell out before hitting my loyaly point total, in turn meaning I either miss out or use a mates ticket to get one (another contentious issue I know). Both in turn mean I never gain any more points to reach the threshhold to get a ticket on my card a viscious circle is what it is.

Unbelievable! What about the empty seats in most of The games? Especialy CL? City is a global brand now, tourits are spending Money to go to the stadium. Lots of it. Tshirts, scarfs, souveniers, tickets, etc Money that goes to the club. Without the foreign fans, we would still had Adebayor instead of Aguero. Can t believe what I am reading: City fans mocking City fans just because they are not British. Its unfair.
