Where do we play him though we can't have a midfield of Yaya and Benat it's too weak. So if its Barry Benat and Yaya further forward we have to drop a striker and having 3 strikers on the bench it's not ideal.

This is my thinking with Beñat.

A Beñat - Yaya partnership would be too week. if anything, Beñat would be perfect as a back up to Yaya. We need a destroyer with playmaking abilities like De Rossi/ Busquets next to Yaya.

Yaya needs competition now, I just think at times he goes about himself as Mr. City, and there are times he gets away with ridiculous errors, but because it is Yaya it is OK.

We have got to a point as club now when we need somebody to challenge Yaya, if a player does not have competition they get in comfort zones.

Hart is another play who needs a keeper who can be always on his tail, by doing it I think the competition wil enable him to officially become the best in the world.

THIS! I agree with all of this, and abotu Joe, I'm happy Butland and Forster are providing some competition to him at England level atleast to keep him on his toes

City for 'new Xabi Alonso'
Real Betis midfielder Benat wanted by Manchester City and Liverpool

Liverpool have joined Manchester City in the hunt for exciting Spanish midfielder Benat, reports the London Metro.

The 25-year-old Real Betis star, who has been likened in playing style to Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso, has emerged as one of La Liga's leading lights over the past two seasons, prompting admiring glances from a host of Premier League clubs.

Manchester City scouts are believed to have been monitoring Benat's progress closely in recent months - including in Betis' 1-0 victory over Real Madrid, where he scored the winner - as Roberto Mancini considers a bid to bring the playmaker to the Etihad Stadium.

However, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also keen on the technical midfield maestro, after being promised by Anfield owners that he will be given funds to strengthen his squad in January.

Spanish publication AS suggest Benat could cost upwards of £15million, which could prove to be a sticking point for Liverpool. Rodgers might only be willing to spend half that amount, but could maximise his budget by selling the likes of Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson in the New Year.

The Reds boss is targeting a forward as a priority in the forthcoming transfer window, but knows the Spanish international could add vital balance and creativity with his impressive range of passing, to Liverpool's lacklustre midfield.

Or we could just get a Playmaker next to Yaya and a Defensive Midfielder behind them in a diamond shaped midfield.
Against strong teams:

----Barry
Beñat--Yaya
----Silva

Against small teams:

-----------Barry
SN/JM/JR/JG---Yaya/Beñat
-----------Silva

Width would be provided by the fullbacks, but we already do that now so nothing different.
Yaya and Beñat could rotate and Nasri, Milner, Rodwell, and Garcia can rotate with each other and Barry. Silva could then be rested if we get Isco or we could just play Tevez there and have Dzeko or Balo start next to Agüero.
