Yeah, that's definitely an Americanism, especially when the emphasis is on "off". If anyone says that, I agree we should kill the bastard! What about offense?

I don't even know why it has to happen, the ONE time they played together (I think they've only played once), they were both monsters on our left side against Liverpool.Won't be happy if Sane is sacrificed when he comes back ....
Sané came off the bench and played switching between the right and centre in that game iirc.I don't even know why it has to happen, the ONE time they played together (I think they've only played once), they were both monsters on our left side against Liverpool.
Yeah I remember he did tend to drift across, but he was also definitely on the left for a decent bit. I know this because him and Mendy scored a sweet goal combining down the left. Also Sterling can play left-inside as well with Mendy wide left.Sané came off the bench and played switching between the right and centre in that game iirc.
They can, but play both of them on the left for a full match and one of their games will be stifled. Neither Mendy or Sané naturally go into the inside channels that Delph, Zinchenko or Sterling will.Yeah I remember he did tend to drift across, but he was also definitely on the left for a decent bit. Main point is; they can both be on the pitch and make us a strong team.

Agree to disagree I guess. I think Sane is very good at transitioning inside, which would increase his goal threat. They can, but play both of them on the left for a full match and one of their games will be stifled. Oh I didn't even realize this, just further support to the idea that it can work. They started together twice this season, 5-0 against Burnley, Mendy assisted Sane in that one and then the 6-1 against Southampton, Sane scored and assisted 2 in that one so Mendy didn't really get in his way although he was poor defensively in that game.
