Yes but we still could have drawn a fair amount of games if we hadn't scored late. We also beat Chelsea last season by scoring only 1 goal each of the games because of how Conte set up. Pep knew that when teams put a low block on it can be hard to break down. Against teams that were more open we were fine. We've been a lot more comfortable this year scoring early forcing teams to open up. Mendy has been key to that with his presence alone and his crossing ability. Silva tries to link up with Sterling/Sane in trying to break though the left side with Mendy as the alternative to whip balls in from the left wing if space is opened up.
This is true, this is the reason we paid £50 mil for Mendy.
Not many in the game whip it in aswell as Mendy, as well as get up and not so much down as hre does.
With 80% possession defence is less important.
Attacking options are at a premium.
Wendy offers this in Spades.
Sane offers a variation of this however,
Options, and more options is our strength.
And Mendy is a unique and very effective option at breaking down defences.
We have the best crossers, dribblers, pace, magicians then the power of Mendy.
Must really be a tough day out defending against our lot.
