Angelinos got zero pace? he seems pretty quick not walker fast but hes pretty zippy

No,mate I was on about Mendy. He always turned like a bus which made his pace defensively often ineffective but now the injuries seem to have taken away his pace even after 20 he's got going.

When he was at monaco and even in his first games for us, that is the mendy we witnessed. However since the injuries something has gone remarkably wrong

His crossing has gone to shit. When he first came he looked like he was putting a stream of dangerous crosses in every game. Now they are truly awful

I was talking about angelino as being first choice until we buy someone. Injuries have ruined mendys career i think we will be looking to get rid in the summer

He was atrocious yesterday but why is Mendy being told to push out? If the cross comes in we need his height, meanwhile Foden is marking someone that has a significant height advantage on him. Foden should've been the one told to push out.

He really wasn't that bad yesterday ,if the 1-2 had been seen out properly his performance wouldn't be a problem ,because it really wasn't that bad ,a couple of loose clearances first half when under a lot of pressure and a poor contact leading up to the second goal but that's all
As for the video its inconclusive and theres no reason why Walker or Rodri couldn't of done it themselves,Walkers wandering around with no one to mark Walkers telling Mendy to do something ,when hes the defender and closing down should be a midfielders job ,oh Bernardo was in the wall

Feel sorry for Mendy, as he’s not the player he was before those injuries.

But sentiment shouldn’t play a part when it comes to winning matches, a winning team, and winning trophies.

If he isn’t good enough, which he hasn’t been this season, he needs to be dropped.

His possible replacements aren't great, but they would be better than Mendy.

We need a new left back in the Summer, or maybe in January, if we can get the right player at the right price? That will be difficult though.

We need a new left back. The most repeated phrase about City since Bobby Macdonald left.

How much realistically we could get for him?
£25m? £30m we are still taking a massive loss on him given he hasn't played that much.. Even Angelino isnt the answer and even Zinchenko isn't. Zinchenko can be back up.
I honestly think he’s unsellable at the moment. Who is going to pay a fee (any fee) for a player with his injury history on current form? Add on the well known attitude issues and his Man City contract and that list likely becomes zero. Would bet money that if we needed him out of the squad the best we could do is a Mangala style loan. If his form picks up between now and summer maybe someone could talk themselves into it but still looking at something below where we’d realistically move him.

No team with any sense would buy him for the reasons you have stated.

I think Pep was hoping to salvage his investment. He's letting Mendy play but is also able to see if he has any value to the team before sending him off. Once Pep loses faith in Mendy, it will be the end of Mendy's football career. Since Pep once had strong hopes for Mendy, he will try and try before he gives up entirely.

in the game's since he as been back we have had to hold any thoughts on his performance because of the long term injuries to mendy, but the stand out for me is he has lost some of his mobility in pushing off and going pass the winger, also his turning is now blocky and slow, now i hope to god its not the end for him and he is world class when 100% but long term injuries are the worse to get over and getting back

if he has lost some mobility because of the injury then his performance in this team will not be good enough for what we need, but pep is the master and am looking from the stands only, but something does not look right in mendy and its not fitness maybe could match fitness but his whole movement looks different to me, and like i said he was fast on the turn nows its blocky with another step

always remember colin bell and his injury and his come back he was not the colin bell we knew and his mobility had gone and could not push off that leg like he used to, you felt for bell the heart of a lion and would run all day and smooth as silk and then this broken player it was heart break for him and us

Sam Lee said today that Mendy's made an effort to be more professional this season, but the club now know that his knee has been permanently damaged following his past two surgeries. Not gonna be harsh on him - it's a sad situation, we'll just have to struggle through it until we can move him on. Hope people will stop giving him a hard time on social media, I'm sure he's struggling.

He's got no pace now. Zero skill to start with so how's he going to be good bombing forwards?
Plus, after him doing his road runner act legging it up the pitch, crossing to anyone , he is goosed, and cant get back, one of peps , poor buys.

Yeah, if his knee is done, then just get shut. Unfortunate but we can't carry player who is basically useless as a result

This also means we have to loan him out until his contract expires in 2023...

Do you work in an abbatoir by the way ?

He’s actually getting worse each game.

It’s time to give Angelino a run.

Mendy should play only against Dinamo and Oxford. Then we’ll go from there.
