He reminds me Micah in his last year for us.
A good analogy.
He reminds me Micah in his last year for us.
6.5/10 this season so far. Not great by any stretch, but he's been good for the most part. Not the high level we'd want for the the team going forward but given his injury issues coupled with some of his earlier performances makes me want to be patient. What would you rate him (Mendy obviously as its his performance thread - not Gundogans) out of 10 as a matter of interest ?
My comments were about yesterday, and yesterday alone, 5 at best for that. Over the season he's had a few OK performances and doesn't seem to be serially injured (yet), but I'd struggle above 5.5 even then.6.5/10 this season so far.
His passing was poor yesterday but his defending was OK. We can't really blame him for the goal, he tracked Kante well and there was a lot of bad luck in that goal There was also no reason for Ederson to leave his line.
Overall I still think he is our best option as a left back and I feel more comfortable having him there than the other two just because he can bully whoever comes his way with his physicality, we have enough lightweight players in the team and need to balance it out. There were those corner situations in the Everton game where Zinchenko was marking Yina and he looked like a child playing with an adult.
I am sure Pep will figure out what is wrong with his passing as he can't even complete simple passes, it may be panic from lack of games but he has more room for improvements than they other two. So until we have a better choice I think we should stick with him.
He seems to be a player who relied on his physical attributes but has lost them since the injuries. Feel sorry for the lad but he needs replacing.
His ass was covered by Diniho for 95 mins. Defending was poor.
