None of the 5 were found to be lying.

You can argue the merits of being guilty/not guilty, but it's not normal for 5 different women to accuse someone of rape. It doesn't happen to footballers, it doesn't happen to people who just sleep around.

Somewhere along the way, whether guilty ot not, you're doing something incredibly wrong with your life if multiple people go to the police, report you for rape, go through a fairly gruelling pre-trial process to convince CPS to prosecute one of the hardest crimes to prosecute.

"Several weeks into the trial, the judge ordered the jury to find both Mendy and Matturie not guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman, after a video emerged showing her having “enthusiastic and obviously consensual sex” with Matturie. Mendy’s defence team used this dropped charge to plant doubt in the jury’s mind, suggesting that if one woman had lied, could the others not also have made up their allegations?"

Of course this doesn't mean anything about the other accusers. But it, along with the fact that some/all (we don't have much public info on this) knew each other, was enough to put doubt in the jury's mind.

It probably buried the case, whether he's guilty or not.

Just because you have sex with somebody doesnt mean they didnt rape you on another occassion , this is why it is hard to prove rape, the women are on trial in these cases, disgusting by the defence teams and why nearly all women dont report it , it takes guts with little chance of winning
