Well if he has decided to stay at Monaco at least it didn't get as far as Laporte and all the media stuff done before he changed his mind..
Its not Txiki's £5 mill to spend, wouldnt have thought its even his job to negotiate a fee. His job as DOF I understand is to help identify and persuade the player and agents the negotiations between clubs I would expect to be dealt with by others. Thats the trouble when people look to criticise without fully understandig everyones roles. If Txiki can't get this one across the line then we might as well just pack it in. The player clearly wants to come and the two clubs were just £5m apart in valuation, if the various independent reports are to be believed. Why is he messing about?
Time is not on our side here. Monaco are quite happy to keep him. It's not like they are suddenly going to reduce their demands. They'll quite happily wait until we're desperate and then increase the price.
Considering the emphasis that is consistently put on players needing time to learn Peps positional play principles I will be a bit disappointed if we haven't signed more defenders before heading to the States.Relax...it's disappointing as of now. But as long as we get some defenders in the door a week or two before Brighton we should be okay.
What's txiki meant to do put a gun to the players head, the deals offered he either comes or he doesn't.
People blaming txiki is a joke
