Benjamin Pavard

With Walker going, I always see people wanting right backs like Frimpong etc to replace him, even though we don’t play that way. I get that some see it as underwhelming, but in a squad where traditional fullbacks are simply not needed, Pavard fits the bill as a right sided CB, does he not? Ok, he’s not got Kyle Walker’s pace but I think we saw with the Akanji transfer that City/Pep know exactly what qualities they want/need in the back 3/4 and they are not afraid to target a less glamorous player if they feel they have what we need.

I think experience is a big driver in this. World Cup and Bundesliga winner, experience of big club standards. Losing Walker and Gundogan in the same window demands this.

If it happens I'm predicting a Danilo-level of performance and contribution. Not outstanding, but solid enough. More than capable.
He's super consistent as well. Bayern fans always say he's one of the few who always plays a good game. Not really injured much either

Fabrizio called it an exclusive
He says Pavard is now top of the list
It comes immediately after the Walker story

Obviously not the same story as that one
Could just be waffling on this one Fabrizio but it has been confirmed by other sources too. More so that Pavard would like the City move and that Pep appreciates his versatility.

The first, we didn't get to where we are by only doing deals because they are convenient and easy. That would be daft.
I believe Pep would rather have signed Rice last summer but the fee made us go for Phillips, for instance. Signing Pavard would be much easier than knocking on Leverkusen’s door for Frimpong to negotiate for instance

How much is it that Pep wants and likes him and how much is that this is an easy and convenient transfer?
could be a bit of both? Do you have any names that are actually attainable for a similar profile. I mentioned Kounde but it’s unlikely to even go for him.
