Bentley ?

Under Hughes Bentley would be a good signing - in terms of adding to the squad but its gonna be a no no because Spuds will want a fee in excess of 12m - well he's just not worth more than 8m (Spurs fault for over paying last summer) and Bentley isn't one to sit on the bench, fall in line and shut the f*** up. If this was going to happen Spursmad would know about it.

The prospect of Bellamy and Bentley playing golf together is interesting nonetheless!

MANCHESTER CITY boss Mark Hughes wants to end David Bentley’s Tottenham nightmare.

But he faces competition from the manager he has just fallen out with over City’s attempt to sign Joleon Lescott – Everton’s David Moyes.

Hughes leads the chase for Bentley, 24, who played under the City boss at Blackburn before moving to Tottenham a year ago for £15million.

But like Everton, City are eyeing a £9m deal for the England midfielder, who has failed to convince Spurs boss Harry Redknapp that he is the man for the job. Bentley’s situation wasn’t helped last week when he was charged with drink-driving.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will want to recoup the fee paid for Bentley, which means he’ll adopt a similar approach to Sunderland’s move for Darren Bent.

really can't get excited about this, even if he does have skills we are lacking.

It took us 2 years to get rid of the last crim at the club, surely we don't need another.
